Pete Shelley
Pete Shelley (born Peter Campbell McNeish, April 17, 1955 in Leigh, Greater Manchester) is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist, best-known as the leader of Buzzcocks, one of the first generation punk rock groups from England.
The McNeish family lived in a house on a road named "Landside" in Leigh which still stands. The family was middle class and had a strong work ethic, which is reflected in Shelley's attitude to life in general and his work in particular. Shelley has a younger brother.
Shelley is devoted to his parents, but even up until recently his mother was still asking Shelley to "get a proper job", despite Shelley's worldwide success.
