I've seen several videos from 9/11 truthers that profess a love for Star Trek and they really perplex me, since Star Trek takes place in a future where Earth is a socialist multicultural place with no gold standard and much better off for it. The only thing that really matches up with their ideology is the prime directive.

EvilHomer - 2011-09-30

No fiat currency, either.

I'd say that these Star Trek Truthers are clearly NWO plants, but the fact is that the bulk of the Truthers I know- coming as they did from the "antiBush left"- really are pro-socialist police staters at heart. They're scared of an NWO which keeps a thin veneer of private enterprise (a Halliburton military-industrial complex) rather than an NWO which nationalizes and militarizes everything in Federation space. I mean, hey, as long as the Ferengi and their greedy Space WalMarts are kept out of the utopia, what can go wrong?

They had a dilithium standard that inspired all sorts of drastic tactics, such as fear mongering developing planets with tales of Klingon enslavement to get rights to the minerals. Humans were also generally racist in Star Trek. The command crew were cool, but everyone lieutenant and below seemed to be a human supremacist. The entire star fleet was human dominated. Star Trek took place in a galactic police state.

NO BLOOD FOR DILITHIUM CRYSTALS.

Ask yourself: who was REALLY in a position to destroy the Enterprise-C, and who had the most to gain?

I remember the Original Series episode that first introduced the Romulans ("The Balance of Terror" I believe it was). Since Romulans more or less resemble Vulcans, almost everyone on the Enterprise began to look at Spock with distrust, with their attitudes ranging from thinking he may be a spy to outright bigotry.

Actually, didn't the original series mention pay grades?

Also, DS9 talked about the federation as a "Humanoids only" club.

Excuse me, I have to go comb the sweet tarts out of my beard.

"I have a nearly omniscient knowledge of pretty much everything that's going on in this world, all the most important secrets, powerful conspiracies, and historic events are entirely within my comprehension. My judgement of who is right or wrong is more informed and correct than that of any of the puppet-like participants, and I have intuitive grasp of everything worth note from cultural subtleties to basic laws of science, and am part of a interactive community that appreciates and defines both the nobility of the Good and the flaws of the Evil etc etc etc"

In other words, because it's soft science-fiction with a moralistic bent, which makes a good substitute for religion.

Kang there did the voice of Mr. Freeze. Also, he was married to Barbara Eden.
