"it's the jews? Rothchilds, and such? elect Ron Paul and end the fed, or revolution!"

So just to be clear about this, we'd all be better off if congress had the ability to print money, as opposed to the Fed. Sounds great! what could possibly go wrong?

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2011-10-08

While not my preference, I believe the answer youre looking for is gold standard.

Oscar Wildcat - 2011-10-09

So the mining companies will do a better job than the Fed or Congress in managing the money supply? Why not! What could possibly go wrong?

Richmond - 2011-10-08

My God, this is painful to watch. Of course money is debt; any trade of anything is an exchange of debts. Of course interest is in addition to principal, interest is a payment for future value. Of course 97% of money isn't in paper or coins; what the hell do you think paper and coins are but a physical representation of value owed?

I just love the idea that everything would be okay if we stuck to physical money, as if there's some inherent value to the fact that you can touch those numbered pieces of paper. Hey, why not make your online banking account scratch-n-sniff so that the money is real?

If the dollar was based on the comedy gold standard, this would be worth a few grand: http://www.libertariannews.org/2011/06/06/libertarian-goldbugs-hat ing-on-bitcoin-free-market-money/

TSR: This is wrong because of ad hominem and a straw man.

so whatever.

I agree with you, TSR, but you gotta learn how to persuade rather than badger

Of course banks are evil, hasn't the modern world ever seen a western!? It amazes me how history has completely forgotten the lesson of the Wider Sloan.

I have a hard time trusting anything that uses public domain clip art. Although I like the little man wearing a deer stalker and holding a magnifying glass.

I thought it was well put-together for what it was. But, as others have said, he just glosses over the fact that the Fed != "all the private bankers"; it's a board appointed for a limited term by the President and confirmed by the Senate. And what's a viable alternative? He never says.

The problem isn't just the Fed or the banks, it's a nation increasingly run by the super-wealthy for the sole benefit of the super-wealthy, using ultra-right Christianity as their cover, using xenophobia to divide and conquer the have-nots.

There's no notion of a social contract anymore. It's all about "getting over" on someone, advancing yourself at the expense of others.

Vote Raun Pol

glendower - 2011-10-08

o God, let's hope this kind of stuff doesn't water down a perfectly good protest.

Pompoulus - 2011-10-09

Money is stealing value from other money?!

I knew money couldn't be trusted!
