At least the North Koreans attempt to make a pizza that looks like a pizza, instead of stuffing the crust with wieners and putting lobster tails and potatoes on it like their Southern cousins.
I would take exception. In the US at least you can find locally owned pizza places that serve very good pizza. If this is the only choice you have in the DPRK, then you're screwed.
I'd just like to stand up and say that even the lowly American chain pizza blows the doors off anything you can get almost anywhere else in the world. Italy excepted of course.
I come from Connecticut originally, and back home, we take our pizza VERY seriously. Every town has about a dozen high quality family owned pizza restaurants; in fact, our small business pizza places have almost completely run the chain store crap out of the state. I wouldn't consider myself a fullblown pizza snob like some other native sons, but I'm definitely a pizzafag of discriminating taste.
That said, South Korean Yam, Pumpkin Seed, and Ketchup Pizza is AWESOME.
