As someone who went through this on a daily basis growing up, I hope this guy dies the most painful death possible.

Unfortunately, I saw a lot of this shit when I was stuck in Monroeville, Alabama.

I saw a preacher beat his six-year-old son for "deceiving" his parents. The boy had wet the bed and tried to wash & dry the bedclothes before they found out.

A few weeks earlier, the preacher had made the boy wear his stained sheet like a toga and walk around the block.

He wasn't beaten for wetting the bed. He was beaten for lying and not honoring his mother & father. The instrument used to beat him was some kind of car antenna, not the hollow telescoping kind, a thick solid one with a ball on the end and a spring for a base, which apparently made a good handle.

He never had to answer for it legally because:

- He was a man of God trying to save his son from the devil's influence

- The police were asshole rednecks who beat the shit out of their own kids

- It was his own business how he disciplined his children

- It was the 1970s

- Monroeville was an annex of Hell

God I wish we'd had all our modern cheap digital cameras and the Internet back then.
