I think Abed is on to something. I'm not going to go out on a limb and say that COUGARTOWN is good, but if you've never it, it's probably better than you think.

Okay, I'll admit it. I love COUGARTOWN. The show shares a lot of the creative talent and cast with SCRUBS, and Ted the Sad Lawyer even showed up in the last couple of episodes. The style is similar to SCRUBS, but Instead of a hospital, COUGARTOWN is about a bunch of friends who drink a lot of wine without ever getting really drunk and mean. The tone is a lot lighter. Nobody ever dies, and it turns out you don't miss the sappy voice-over narration that ties everything together at the end.

The name COUGARTOWN is pretty bad. By season two, they were making jokes during the opening titles about how bad the title is.

Of course, I also love COMMUNITY, and after seeing Abed tell Jeff Winger about doing a walk-on, seeing him turn up in an episode of COUGARTOWN that I was watching on HULU, I laughed so hard I nearly pissed myself. Which would have been an odd coincidence, because Abed shit himself. That may be why he ran off off like that.

You know you only have to capitalize the first letter in proper nouns, right?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2011-11-28

I use allcaps as a replacement for italics. I'm guessing that the names of TV shows, like the names of Newspapers and Periodicals, ought to be in italics.

Awesome. I just watched the entire episode again because this really was one of my favorites. I had no idea it was based in whatever passes for reality on tv these days. Now I'm tempted to COUGARTOWN as well.

Uhhh, in some (but not all) style guides you are supposed to put titles in italics, but there is no style guide for poeTV or the Internet at large. Internet convention for all caps is shouting, and Internet conventions for titles is just to treat them as proper nouns.

There is a convention for using italics in strict ASCII format, which is to put _underscores_ around a word, but it's not widely known.

Also, I watched the video. One star.

Mr Motherfucker, I must be missing the joke, why is this Subway and Starbucks ad funny?

Maggot Brain - 2011-11-28

where's the clip? All I got was a commercial for Subway®

-2 for some of the worst product placement I've seen in a while that wasn't in a soap opera, but I approve of Abed showing up in the background of other shows and watching what's going on

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2011-11-28

The product placement is indeed unfortunate.

Everyone write your congressthings and tell them to make whatever damn corporation owns this to make it come back. Thank you.

Twitch - 2011-11-28
