The problem is that modern Corvettes have a ton of horsepower and torque handy, and if you turn the traction control off, you don't get to do smoking burnouts and tire-squealing turns.

The result is every douchebag that thinks he's a stunt driver will turn it off, and upon nailing the throttle, somehow be surprised when the tail kicks out as a result of flooring the throttle. Let of throttle, tires grip again, and now you're making a turn that you didn't intend to make.

But more horsepower means it's a better driving car!

I like cars. They are a passion of mine, though I typically like vintage european and japanese cars - but I read Jalopnik and Autoblog every day. I hate the commenters there, of course - but it's just something I like and I'm pretty well versed in, and when I see a bunch of people making false statements about ANY car, it ruffles my feathers a bit. Even cars that aren't my style.
I like cars. I think they're neat. I like the engineering and aesthetic thought that (sometimes) goes into them.
I think it's good to know what you're talking about before you say it.

You know, you might be on to something here... From these recent experiments can we reasonably conclude the Corvette particle is a fermion, not a boson?

We need to do more experiments in whether or not two Corvettes can occupy the same space at the same time.

If we abide by the "Many Worlds" hypothesis there is the world of Corvette drivers, where Corvettes are bosons, and the world of the rest of us, where they are plainly fermions. Thus it should be easy to direct a beam of Corvettes up and down the freeway and record the results. From the point of view of the drivers, the cars will just pass through each other. From our point of view, hilarity ensues.

That would explain why at the second gear energy state the forward vector seems to shift to a right angle to our three dimensions and why, even though it seems capable of higher gears, we never observe them.

We need some grant money!
