American Standard - 2011-12-01 Don't quite believe it. Sorry.
"Lab animals" is vague as shit. What Pavlov did was "testing on lab animals." It could mean anything from dripping nail polish remover into their eyes to behavioral studies. And since these dogs haven't been euthanized and dissected at the conclusion of the study, whatever's going on wasn't pharmacological, surgical, or bioscience-related. So... what was it? By not telling you, they're telling you a lot.
And what facility are they from? And why don't they act like animals who've been caged "their entire lives?" Go to any shitty zoo where the staff doesn't give a fuck about enrichment or stimulation and you'll see it for yourselves. Where's the pacing, neurotic repeated behaviors and head-shaking/throwing? When animals that have been confined to small areas are moved to larger quarters, they still pace the imagined smaller circuit of their cages, despite the extra room. I don't see anything like that.
So they're tentative when exiting their crate. So are like 50% of the dogs in the world. After the vet, my dog sits in his crate with the door open for ten minutes, too. Dogs views crates as safe, familiar places, not cages. Don't anthropomorphisize, guys.
Without further information, stars withheld. Someone's trying to manipulate me, here.

Cute dogs, and I can't imagine what sorts of suffering they endure...but I doubt any of us would want cruelty free cancer meds.

Mancakes - 2011-11-30 I was amazed that they can even get away with this nowadays, the legislation for animal testing is a fucking nightmare in research if you're using vertebrates other than fish.
Animal tests are an unfortunate reality, but anybody against it should go ahead and volunteer themselves for liability-less experiments or just get a sign and say hooray for every disease ever since you clearly live in a wonderful ivory castle or are a massive moron.

Lef - 2011-12-01 The difference in taste between cage raised and free range dog is worth the extra price imho.

I don't know what to think.
The video is cute and happy enough, but on the other hand it's just propaganda for something I can't agree with.
I'm happy for these six dogs but the people behind the video need to shut up.

It's possible to acknowledge the necessity of animal testing and feel bad for them at the same time.
