Wow. This man was a candidate for the united states presidency? Wow.

Wow.

Pillager - 2011-12-04

Yeah.

Now tell me that Idiocracy wasn't a grimdark future documentary.

takewithfood - 2011-12-04

Start making babies. It's not too late.

Pillager - 2011-12-04

I'm over 40.

It would be a spectacular gamble.

Besides: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=62432

'tater's not making deliveries.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-12-04

It wasn't a grimdark future documentary, it was shitty eugenics propaganda for stupid people with a stupid sense of humor.

Pillager - 2011-12-05

@ WWD,

You must not get out much.

I work at Saint God's Hospital. A young doctor called down to ask the difference between a pill & a capsule.

The nurses are just as lame. How these people graduated & became medical professionals is beyond me.

FABIO - 2011-12-06

No, he didn't.

You're one of those people who loves to embellish and make up shit about work thinking you're the one smart person there holding it all together but in reality you're a secretary or low level supervisor buried in Cathy comics who's never risen above their station for a good reason (no apocalypse will change that).

Pillager - 2011-12-06

@ Fabio,

No, bitter one. I'm surrounded by people who believe the Earth is 6,000 years old, Palin would make a damned fine President, that Saddam's WMDs are still waiting to be found, & deny Climate Change every time we get a flurry of snowflakes.

They're the ones who have 5 kids. It's sad really.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-12-04

He siphoned money away from the Koch Brothers, divided attention from probably more worthwhile candidates, AND successfully squeezed Newt Gingrich into the mainstream, regardless of the inevitable consequences for the Republican chances of success.

Give the man a fucking medal.

kingarthur - 2011-12-04

Agreed. It reminds me of that Tom Tomorrow comic I can't find a link to at the moment.

takewithfood - 2011-12-04

I can't listen to Rachel Maddow for 14 minutes straight; I had to take two breaks. I find her extremely irritating when she's this excited. Stars for Cain's baffling idiocy, though.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-12-04

Im not really surprised. No one was going to check if his quote came from Pokemon 2000 and most republicans like the idea of non-professionally directed campaign ads because to them it shows hes a real person who is down to earth. The Becky-becky-stan-stan was also good for him because every other candidate who has been more direct and knowledgable about a subject was shooting themselves in the foot by giving an educated opinion on the matter rather than stating some overly simple and uneducated opinion like "gays are satan". Cain showing that hes not afraid to say he doesnt know and then turning it around on the one asking the question plays on his followers' stubborn ignorance and disdain for people who know more than them because they themselves are oblivious to a lot of stuff and become defensive about their own ignorance. Cain was always playing on the republican party's blatant stupidity but the level he did it at is astounding.

Anaxagoras - 2011-12-04

This "I've figured it out!" schtick that she & Stewart do is kinda tiresome. I understand that they need novel ways to introduce the right's sheer idiocy, but this schtick has gotten really old. They've been using it for... what? Four years now? Five? Something like that. It wasn't that great of a set-up when it was first used.

themilkshark - 2011-12-04

Not 4 or 5 years, more like 10. It's not like the Republican pool of crooks will ever get less corrupt, hateful and deceitful. Jon Stewart the 5th will be doing the same schtick in 2111.

Spoonybard - 2011-12-04

Not only is it trite, the "art project" theory has no bite to it. It would have been a better segment if she'd focused on how politics are portrayed as entertainment in American media. Cain's antics only become relevant if he stands a chance of winning, which never would have become an issue if you'd ever stopped talking about him for five minutes, Rachel.

Bort - 2011-12-04

Not only is it biteless, it's missing the lesson of the past three years. Sarah Palin taught us that, win or lose, drumming up a GOP support base is a lucrative source of income. That's the game Cain is playing. I say even Newt is playing it; Newt in particular knows that your troubles begin after you've taken office, so it's best to make your money with media exposure and detestable pronouncements (that nonetheless win the adoration of the GOP faithful).

Eroticus E - 2011-12-05

DURRRR. ONE STAR. LULZ

Void 71 - 2011-12-04

Pretend news show celebrities making fun of pretend political celebrities is getting old.

craptacular - 2011-12-04

fuck the haters, this was entertaining and insightful to a Canadian who doesn't seriously follow any of the funny stuff going on beyond the border to the south

StanleyPain - 2011-12-04

Cain is just another Sarah Palin: a grifter whose fleecing the ever so easily fleeceable in this country.

TeenerTot - 2011-12-05

But the nice thing is that the fleecers tend to be conservatives that fleece their own.

Riskbreaker - 2011-12-04

If Herman Cain, or anyone in his campaign had a functioning brain instead of leftovers from yesterday's pizza, they would have target the entire campaign to anime and video game fans. Quoting some Dragon Ball and Skyrim here and there, they would have a good portion of the 18-30something part of the country that never votes. Then he could made an entire event of him singing anime theme songs.

Robin Kestrel - 2011-12-04

I like Rachel, but it should be no revelation to anyone that Herman Cain was another Sarah Palin, a "book tour" candidate with no appetite for governance.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-12-04

It's depressing that we live in a country where con artists are the most respected and successful members of society.
