Is this a joke?

memedumpster - 2011-12-13

There are so many superior Christian bands that I can't believe I wrote this sentence.

Cena_mark - 2011-12-13

For Today wouldn't support your film encouraging the murder of abortion doctors? Such horrible lukewarm Christians.

Born in the RSR - 2011-12-13

Kill your mother rape your dog! tantantaratatantantan! trrrrr!

Hooker - 2011-12-13

He even treats his fans with complete contempt. I cannot think of anyone more potent combination of self-righteousness and unimportance.

Hooker - 2011-12-13

His fans who are themselves fanatics.

Cena_mark - 2011-12-13

Well his "fan" had a differing opinion. That can't be tolerated.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2011-12-13

Conservative christians have no sense of humor, they also have no sense of musical taste. I have a theory about this - and it involves being in touch with all of your emotions, and they are ashamed of half of them.

I think it's odd that you will never find a recording of Bach Cantatas, or Mozart's Great Mass, or even Mahler 8 (veni creator spiritus?) in your typical generic christian gift store.

Again, christians have great music tied to their own religion (just as they have great art tied to it) and they ignore it in favor of Demon Hunter and Thomas Kinkaide.

Konversekid - 2011-12-13

Yeah but Catholic isn't Christian, durr!

Cena_mark - 2011-12-13

Christian music outside of Catholicism used to be great. Old time gospel and spirituals laid down the foundation for country music and the blues. Country and the blues would later evolve into the devil's music, Rock and Roll. In rebellion against Rock the modern Christian recording industry is born.

CJH - 2011-12-13

thinking of all christians as some sort of subhumans with half the emotions of a regular person and no ability to appreciate good music is a pretty weird thing to do, harriet

IrishWhiskey - 2011-12-13

Harriet didn't say all Christians, but conservative Christians.

Of course that's still an overstatement, but when you see people like this, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Kirk Cameron, Pat Robertson, Rick Perry and Donald Trump getting adored by more than 1/3 of Americans, it's okay to start wondering if there's a pod person invasion going on.

Change - 2011-12-13

I agree with CJH, except for his use of 'weird' instead of something more judgmental. There's no need to be wishy-washy.

TeenerTot - 2011-12-13

Catholics are xtian.
Just a super-culty version.

memedumpster - 2011-12-13

I agree, CJH, you have to possess some semblance of human to be subhuman, Christians lack all humanity. I also agree that I am part of the problem, I don't do enough to aid in the eradication of that vile religion.

Bort - 2011-12-13

Conservative Christianity, as it is practiced today, devotes a lot of energy to reinforcing group affiliation. When it's done through music, the result is sometimes shitty music, because musical quality isn't the main goal behind it.

It's a shame that the Bibleman "God Forgives and God Forgets" video is currently down, because I wanted to point out the audience doing their best to enjoy these kids singing about Jesus. If you can't make yourself enjoy a song about Jesus, what kind of Christian ARE you?

Here's the other side of it:

Christians produce something genuinely funny but a little blasphemous, and they can't acknowledge that they were motivated by a good funny idea. So they have to claim it's all for educational purposes.

catpenis27 - 2011-12-13

Not to be a music snot but it was mostly Ragtime in the late 1800's that was played almost exclusively in bars and whorehouses that influenced almost all jazz and later gospel and soul. It was the American answer to the ending of the Romantic period of say Brahms and Liszt, and the rising surge of African and Caribbean beats. This is where most modern liturgical music comes from, hence how funny Tom Lehrer's The Vatican Rag really is.

CJH - 2011-12-13

you're right. let me rephrase: classifying those with opposing political or religious views as somehow 'alien' is exactly what the people you hate do when they help pass laws restricting the rights of people different from them. if this applies to you, you are part of the problem.

Ocyrus - 2011-12-13

Anyone live near his "Krav Maga" school? Anyone want to infiltrate and undermine?

Rudy - 2011-12-13

It's in Durham, NC. Funny that his website features quotes from such Christian luminaries as convicted rapist Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali.

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2011-12-13

There is no God. Get over it.

Riskbreaker - 2011-12-13

For the record: is this guy not a troll? He has to be.

Oscar Wildcat - 2011-12-13

Presumably taken from the Star Wars Christmas special, "LifeDay". Happy LifeWar, Molotov! You stupid cunt.

Ghoul - 2011-12-13

The Youtube comments. WOW.

A brief conversation with a Christian about the Necronomicon, off the cuff remarks about self-proclaimed scientist atheists, a conversation discussing heavy metal as ultimately anti-christian, a rebuttal from a member of the band For Today, and CenaMark making a guest appearance in the comments make this video a top notch viewing experience.

5 stars.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-12-13

Christians really do cheapen everything they try to reclaim for god. Hopefully Molotov lost a fan due to his cocky little rant.

memedumpster - 2011-12-13

That's what's great about music. Be a donkey raping shit eater who wants to commit mass murder, fine, he wont lose any love. Challenge someone's taste in music and the fans will abandon him like he was a donkey raping shit eater wanting to commit mass murder.

Aubrey McFate - 2011-12-15

This is beautiful.
