Skip to 0:58, you impatient turds.

Chalkdust - 2011-12-14

:3

Chalkdust - 2011-12-14

Okay, okay, the actual thing here is that the composer (I think it's still Koji Kondo doing the Zelda games) took one of the more recognizable motifs from previous soundtracks and incorporated it backwards into the Skyward Sword music used in the trailer. A neat little easter egg for music dorks.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-12-14

Not really, because this is just recycled from Twilight Princess, which had an entire score of backwards leitmotifs, due to the Twili being the backwards shadow race of extradimensional aliens.

Chalkdust - 2011-12-14

I forgot about that. Then again, there was a lot of Twilight Princess I forgot about.

Hooker - 2011-12-13

I realize this isn't the point the video, but I think Nintendo has finally killed my interest in Nintendo. There was a time when I would see something that looks like Ocarina of Time and I would get pretty interested and hopeful, but Nintendo has shown me that I need to be bitter and jaded, and so I am.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2011-12-13

That's pretty much video games in altogether for me, anymore.

I still keep throwing away money on them for some reason though.

Mambazo - 2011-12-14

Skyward Sword is probably the best game in the Zelda series since Majora's Mask, so I have absolutely no idea where you're coming from with this? Nintendo's actual output on their major franchises (And I mean real games, not the fucking latest installment of Mario Party) tends to be consistently stellar. I'm not some Nintendo fanboy salivating for the cock of his overlords, but this seems like an opinion that was born purely out of some backward sense of nostalgia.

Nintendo's only fault in the last 20 years is their inability to understand the importance of third party support. But, what does that have to do with making games?

Also, I've played near every LoZ game and I have no fucking idea what this shitty video is meant to represent.

Hooker - 2011-12-14

I've played the two DS ones and the one on the GameCube, and they were all horrible.

Hooker - 2011-12-14

Since Majora's Mask, that is.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-12-14

I had fun with the DS ones and Windwaker is one of my favorites.

Candlejackv616 - 2011-12-14

I feel you Hooker, if you would have shown this to me back when Ocarina hit I would have shit a brick. Now its like "oh another Zelda game...with some slightly different stuff...ok". recently borrowed Skyward sword...wasn't impressed. It really felt like I want something anything new thats a lil drastic...honestly would it kill Nintendo to give link a fucking jump button? or how bout have him talk, and dont give me the "if he talks it takes you out of the game and being him and ..." bullshit. While I dont mind a silent protagonist every once and awhile this shit is just getting old. You can still project your personality and what not via choosing different things to say (Mass Effect anyone?).

It sucks so hard though when I think about the fact that in my head after playing this I felt like it was archaic as hell. hell the beginning alone of this game is the most boring first couple of hours in a Zelda game I have played, and thats saying something considering twilight princess first couple of hours were pretty shit. When you finally get to do stuff in Skyward...like I said feels just archaic and tiresome...my nostalgia goggles finally broke and I can no longer give Zelda games a free pass just cause its Zelda :(

Mambazo - 2011-12-14

Yeah I really don't understand the beef people have with Windwaker outside of a couple of totally out of place stealth sections (Which aren't even THAT bad) and the mostly boring as hell sailing portions I can't understand how anyone who's a fan of the series can look at it and just fucking hate it.

theSnake - 2011-12-14

I haven't beaten a zelda game since SNES, so no, it doesn't sound familiar why dont you fucking tell us idiot

fatatty - 2011-12-14

If you listen closely at 0:36 it says "Hail Satan Peach Pussy"

Agent #1 - 2011-12-14

Uh, there's music from the SNES Zelda in there.

Raggamuffin - 2011-12-14

You probably would have enjoyed the video more if you watched past the first few seconds...

BiggerJ - 2011-12-14

Everyone who didn't get it is genuinely stupid. I got it instantly.

Cube - 2011-12-14

I haven't played Zelda games after the first three ones, so no.

But I thought the song on the video sounded a bit like Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.

bopeton - 2011-12-14

Amazing. That's exactly what I heard.

StanleyPain - 2011-12-14

Twilight Princess was really, really good. It's a shame these brilliant games are being chained to these awful fucking systems.
Oh, what comes out for the Wii this week?? SUPER PET STORE ADVENTURES YAY!

Mother_Puncher - 2011-12-14

Imagine Party Babies 2: Return of Jafar

BiggerJ - 2015-01-28

Incredibly late comment: the song referenced in this video, while famously used in Ocarina of Time, actually made its debut as the end-of-Dark-World-dungeon theme in Zelda III.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-12-14

Im one starring this because Im tragedy stricken retard who hasnt been laid since Jethro Tull had its original line up.
