There is no line of work that has less mature people than government. None. Not McDonalds, not Tim & Eric, not Tim Burton. These are literally the biggest manchildren on earth. Government is a daycare for retards with absolute power, if retards were somehow doubly retarded. Internet trolling is a sophisticated industry compared to the United States Government.

It is absolutely worthless to all humankind.

memedumpster - 2011-12-21

See! Meerkat just took more of a stand than every dipshit in this video!

HarrietTubmanPI - 2011-12-21

5 stars for the evil in the video.

As for your comment - it doesn't have to be. The US government could be a lot more efficient and could be a lot better if the general population was more educated and voted for smarter people besides lawyers who are petty and childish. People get the government they deserve.

CornOnTheCabre - 2011-12-21

thank god getting a well-rounded political education free of the influence of special interests is so mindbogglingly easy in this country.

GET RICHER PARENTS, TARDS

Pope Caius - 2011-12-22

Fear not, child, for the age of stasis is due for its end. The capitalist whores and the tyrants with the gold-lined mouths shall be wrenched from their thrones, and rent before the masses that they had made obese with their excrement. As the fattened animal must be slaughtered, so the masses will be cast down. They will cry the names of their false lords, and over the roar of the cleansing flames there will be but one reply: The name of their true Emperor.

Your politicians were chosen by those masses.
The Imperious One is chosen by the war that shall purge them all.

Thus begins the final age of war. The Imperious One shall rise from the last bastion of the great idealism, and with him bring armies of the dead who seek vengeance on their own descendants for corrupting civilization. Those living who do not fear death shall be taken into the ranks of the Imperious One, and made into a race of great warriors who are more god than man. They are the worthy ones. The unworthy must fall to their sword. They will know war. They will know death.

They will know the name of the Emperor.

They hated democracy so much they've actually destroyed it and it's reputation forever.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2011-12-21

I can't blame the speaker, his dog Max was waiting for him with the sled out back.

sosage - 2011-12-21

I have to respect that the right in this country know they have the PR spin magic to essentially game the system however they want. They may have wound up looking like complete assholes over a super petty move for little gain, but to them it was Wednesday.

joelkazoo - 2011-12-22

I just don't have the spirit to come up with anything clever. This just truly saddens me. However, it's not as chickenshit as the time they adjourned so they wouldn't have to vote against the 9/11 responders bill.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-12-22

You can't tell from this video, but the Speaker of the House cut the C-Span feed as well. It's under his purview, and he's also a cowardly douchebag. I'm sure the two aren't related.

Cena_mark - 2011-12-22

I've been becoming rather apathetic towards politics as of late. Something is very wrong with Republicans right now and I'm not even sure I'll vote Republican in the presidential election. Right now its either Obama or a write in.

Nikon - 2011-12-22

This is some seriously lame-ass shit. What a bunch of selfish, useless douchebags.

kingarthur - 2011-12-22

Forcibly removing lobbying, special interests, PACs, and gerrymandering is a start. Instituting much shorter publicly funded election seasons with term limits and the ability to vote at work is the follow through. Employees gaining representation on their employer's board of directors is the kick in the nuts.

I honestly don't care how it happens at this point.

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2011-12-22

Pay Congressmen and women the same salary as the average grade school teacher, and make any kind of buy-outs highly illegal, and you'd see more real reform. If they can't keep giving themselves raises, and if they're immediately incarcerated if they're found to be treating corporation interests over their constituents, they'll all go back to their slimy lives and stop ruining ours.

FABIO - 2011-12-22

Please tell me how this "no action in corporate interest" policy would work or be legally worded.

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2011-12-22

Well, I agree that it would be difficult to get it down right, but something along these lines might work:

"Representatives of the citizens of the United States of America shall be sworn to oath that they shall put the interests of the people above the interests of private entities and foreign regimes. Representatives shall be held to that oath so that should a Representative be found colluding with private entities for the benefit of those entities alone, that representative would immediately forfeit their position as a representative of the people."

Long-winded legal-ise way of saying: "Whatever you do in this job better benefit the people for the greater good. If you call for a course of action that would only benefit private enterprise, above the good and welfare of the people you are representing, then you can't represent them anymore, because you aren't working for them."

I know it probably wouldn't work that way, but there has to be a way to draw a line where representatives can be fired immediately for working for big business only, to the detriment of their constituents.
