There are lots of things that you can stab without it being a crime. A pillow, a cardboard cut-out, a hooker that was already dead when you got there, a plastic jug full of water, etc.

this guy and all the wolvernerds out there are forgetting something else too: after you stab someone, you usually want to dispose of the weapon quickly. hard to do that when it's stuck to your dumb fat arm.
