Not kidding about those comments. 5 stars for each and every one.

My popcorn's in the microwave, I can't wait to be entertained by the poeTV comments.

Adham Nu'man - 2012-01-23

What seems most ridiculous to me is that a citizen that is not born on American soil can't run for president. Either you are an American or you aren't, why should you be rated as a "second class citizen" if your parents are American and you are born on foreign soil? How does that affect your skills as a potential President?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-01-23

I think they concern was that you'd wind up with a British, French, German, Italian, Irish, Communist, and/or Al-Qaeda sleeper agent who'd turn over the country to [repeat list] powers, depending on what era you were in.

Vaidency - 2012-01-23

Looks like they've finally conceded that Obama was born in Hawaii, which makes him a "citizen of the United States" under the 14th amendment.

Article 2 of the constitution requires that the president be a "natural born citizen of the United States."

So the new birther tactic is to argue that "citizen of the United States by virtue of being born there" and "natural born citizen of the United States" don't mean the same thing.

This has a lot in common with their argument from about 3 years ago that a "birth certificate" and a "certificate of live birth" were not the same thing, including the same odds it will work.

Riskbreaker - 2012-01-23

This will never end, ever.

Pillager - 2012-01-23

I hope not.

Anything that helps alienate swing voters is A Ok in my book.

American Standard - 2012-01-23

Pillager stole my comment.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-01-23

While I like that thought about driving swing voters to more sane candidates, I'm concerned that our nation can turn out such fuckwits in the first place.

Pillager - 2012-01-24

@ SteamPoweredKleenex, For now, the nation doesn't want anymore dumb fucks in office. Palin & Bachmann's disappearance prove that.

StanleyPain - 2012-01-23

What's extra funny about the birther movement is that now they've moved into territory where, under their weird interpretation of the law, John McCain wouldn't be an American citizen either. Or many other people in this country.

Vaidency - 2012-01-23

Not just McCain, of course. Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover and of course a bunch of the earliest presidents had one or more parents born outside the US.

godot - 2012-01-23

Senator Obama co-sponsored legislation in 2008 that clarified Senator McCain's eligibility for president.

SDAusmus - 2012-01-24

Also, Mitt Romney's father was a dual citizen of Mexico, so that should make Romney ineligible as well.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-01-23

This isn't funny at all. It's sad.

Corpus Delectable - 2012-01-23

Wonderful. Let the Theatre Du Derp continue!

memedumpster - 2012-01-23

America the Stupid Beyond the Capacity to Draw a Border on a Map and Yet this Fucking Country Exists Somehow Anyway.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-01-23

Well, he -is- black.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-01-23

A lot of Herman Cain supporters didn't think so. I still would like to know what "real black" means, especially from people in the South.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-01-23

Real black means that you feel uncomfortable sitting next to them on the bus.

joelkazoo - 2012-01-23

By that criteria, I'd rather sit by Obama any day.

Timothy A. Bear - 2012-01-24

He should show up anyway, march right up to the front of the courtoom, put his finger on his chin, clear his voice as if to speak, and then walk out and never come back.
