"Hey Sonic! Stay way from any Saturday morning cartoons, and, for god's sake, don't get anywhere near Archie comics!"

RocketBlender - 2012-01-31

Perfect?

RocketBlender - 2012-01-31

I'm drunk, that was supposed to be a period.

RocketBlender - 2012-01-31

I'm drunk, that was supposed to be a reply.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-01-31

I'm sober, I liked it better with the question mark.

Xenocide - 2012-01-31

Dammit, Sonic, you know that's a lie. Why would you get the little guy's hopes up like that?

Portaxx - 2012-01-31

"Classic Sonic is silent throughout the game, but still shows his personality through his actions and gestures. Aaron Webber mentioned in an interview, that if anyone were to be Classic Sonic, it would be Jaleel White. Aaron had to make a choice whether Classic Sonic would be voiced by Jaleel White or have no voice at all. Aaron also mentioned that he grew up with the classic cartoons of Sonic like Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and he thought Jaleel White did a fantastic job."

The last 10 years' worth of Sonic games have been godawful, so I was shocked when I actually had a lot of fun with Generations. Classic Sonic is adorable and I'm glad Urkel had better things to do with his time.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-01-31

Urkel also did the voice for the Saturday morning cartoon, and I wholeheartedly believe that cartoon was one the major factors in Sonic's downfall.

BiggerJ - 2012-02-01

Jaleel White lent his voice to a Sonic fanfilm, and not an official Sonic game.

I need not state the natural conclusion to make from this.

Sonic Says: The Future Is No Good!

poorwill - 2012-01-31

bad future

RocketBlender - 2012-01-31

I just showed this to a friend on my phone. He turned the phone sideways to "see Sonic correctly", only to have my phone rotate the image, as though reminding him how much Sonic sucks these days.

Spit Spingola - 2012-01-31

Sonic 4 was like playing some bootleg malware-containing Sonic game that you saw advertised in a Google ad. Then this Generations game was pretty good when it wasn't reminding you of all the horrible Sonic games. The 2D parts were like what Sonic 4 should have been. Make up your mind, Sega. Do you want to make shit or not?

RocketBlender - 2012-01-31

Between you and Portaxx, I have to ask: is this game any good? The demo didn't suck, but there's been more than one shit game with a good demo.

Riskbreaker - 2012-01-31

Again, this game is levels of previous Sonic games remade with prettier graphics. That's about it, you have levels from the classic good Sonic games, and levels from the modern Sonic games. I have the old Sonic games, so i see no point in buying this. If i wanted to play the old Sonic games i can do just that.

Portaxx - 2012-02-01

The stages are based on the look of old Sonic games, but it's not the same level design. I thought they did a good job with it. I even enjoyed the 3D stages and the stages based on the terrible Sonic games. Again, I was shocked.

As for "is the game any good?" Well, I enjoyed it, but I also got it as a gift. I'd recommend getting it when it's on sale because it's pretty short and some of the extra missions are tedious. But anyway, the 2D stages are old-school fun, and the 3D sections fixed a lot of the glitchy, hideous problems past 3D Sonic games had. For example, the homing attack finally works! Yay!

Basically it does what a Sonic game was supposed to do; it gives you crazy obstacle courses and challenges you to beat them as quickly as possible. There's no convoluted story, the graphics are nice, and modern Sonic thankfully says very little. It's by no means a perfect game but it was certainly fun, which is something Sonic's been missing for a decade.

Spit Spingola is right about Sonic 4 though. What a fugly, boring mess that game is.

spiteful crow - 2012-01-31

StanleyPain - 2012-02-01
