I just think it's interesting that he started out as this strong rationalist and anti-religious free-thinker, and he's literally using all of the exact same logical fallacies and circular reasoning that an apologist or creationist would use in defending their beliefs to defend his own, weird, gross woman-hater/internet tough guy bullshit.

Actually, even this amount of drama has a backstory. About a year or so ago, this woman who was a fairly well-known YouTube atheist (can't remember her name at the moment which is odd since I used to subscribe to her) was asked to speak at some atheists convention. It wasn't a HUGE convention like the Texas Freethinkers or anything like that, but it was still something semi-important. The subject of her talk, much to the surprise of most people, was about sexism in the atheist community and how, despite many male members of atheist organizations calling out the abuse and mistreatment of women in the name of religion, they seemed to not care much about it if it was simply every day, average misogyny. Regardless of whether you agree with that or not, whatever. After the convention, she later reported that the same night she gave that talk, a creepy guy cornered her in her hotel elevator at something like 3am and tried to get himself invited to her room under the pretext of "yeah, I totally saw where you coming from and totally dig women's rights etc." The fact that she thought this was creepy and wrong caused an absolute SHITSTORM on YouTube and elsewhere. Basically, it brought every weird, basement dwelling, fucktard and her comments were spammed for weeks with death threats, rape threats, accusations of being a cock-tease and a bitch/slut/whatever and it went downhill from there.
This was basically the event that was the catalyst for what turned Amazing Atheist into being the huge anti-feminist dickwad he is today. He was going down that route slowly, but after that woman gave that speech (and the subsequent happenings) he basically unchained everything and went into full dumbshit mode. Ironically, the whole situation pretty much revealed the entire disgusting underbelly to the YouTube "freethinker" community that the woman had accused it having in the first place.

The amazing doucheist is basically going TFL, no surprise about that.

orificespace, it's true that a one-time event like that says nothing about a person's intellect. But this guy is basically ALWAYS doing obscene, outrageous shit like that, which I think raises decent questions about his intelligence.

Yeah, "strong rationalist" + "fat self-important beardo on the Internet" could never have ended any other way. I'd love to go up to my atheist e-friends who thought I was just being a cynical Xtian-apologist douchebag for never taking TAA seriously, and say "HA! LOOK! Richard Dawkins even joined in, opining that women shouldn't complain about sexism in the athiest community because religion forces women to wear burquas, so there.
