I voted this up hoping someone could explain exactly what is different about this round (if there is anything different) from a standard round?

Regardless, I hope this product spawns some great video demonstrations akin to the Coldsteel products. The zombie meat boot demonstration would require you to let the meat sit out til it was rotting and had maggots in it. Then you can stuff the boot.

"For the handgun rounds as well as the rifle rounds we wanted a fairly lightweight, high velocity round. After all, speed kills and in the case of Zombies, you can’t always assume there will always be enough decayed flesh or bone to reliably expand a heavier or slower bullet"

It's a standard boattail varmint load in a box they can charge extra for.

Their shotgun ammo is really bad. It's only 2 3/4". I wouldn't take on a zombie with anything less than 3", and 3 1/2" if I could find it.

I do not get the fascination with zombies. They're neither interesting nor threatening.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-02

I always assumed that, when dealing with Romero type zombies, the fascination/fear factor involves dealing with the degradation of our bodies after death.

memedumpster - 2012-03-02

Is this an ad from the RoboCop remake?

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-03

Remember like 10-15 years ago when no one really talked about or cared about zombies? I miss that.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-03

Let's see. 15 years ago would have been 1997. Judging by your hypothesis, no one even bothered mentioning the concept of "zombie" during these dark ages. Yet, oddly enough, 1997 was set immediately after three Romero zombie flicks, plus a remake of Night, a bazillion (conservative estimate) Italian imitators that had already obtained cult status in America, three Return of the Living Dead films, Night of the Creeps, and a decent number of mostly direct to video garbage fests. Then you had pseudo zombie flicks such as the Evil Dead films and House by the Cemetery. Countless video games already had zombies in them, including Doom, Zombies Ate my Neighbors, Resident Evil, and Nightmare Creatures. But no. Zombies were never, ever relevant before your "15 year ago" window.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-03

Oh, shut up.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-03

Look, I'm not saying I get a hard on for zombies, and I'm big enough to concede that, as a sub-genre, they've become more prevalent over the last decade, but Jesus is it ever pretentious to hate zombies JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE POPULAR.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-03

You think I'm saying that just because they're popular? Of course not.
And, that was the most pretentious reply calling someone else pretentious that I've ever seen.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-03

Of course my reply was pretentious. I was responding in kind.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-03

I'm sure you're eventually make some slack jawed comment about something I don't know, and we'll all agree with your sweeping generalization like some frothy circle jerk ;)
