that's some fast horning. Is Cars the best song ever written? Yes!

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-03

-1 star for weak theremin playing and xlated lyrics. Otherwise, fucking brilliant.

chairsforcheap - 2012-03-03

-1 for you existing

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-03

People should cover other Gary Numan songs, like Are Friends Electric?, more often. As much as a love Cars, it's a shame there's so much awesome Numan out there not getting attention.

chairsforcheap - 2012-03-03

yeah go ahead and listen to "where's your head at" by basement jaxx until you don't say things like that anymore and just enjoy him for what he is!

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-03

@JBF: "Complex", for example.

chairsforcheap - 2012-03-03

hey go away i told u u sux

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-03

...or "Subway I called you" from the much underrated "Dance" album.

chairsforcheap - 2012-03-03

so the more i respond to you the more you're going to tell the world that you're the faggiest diehard gary numan fan on the planet and NOTHINZ GONNA STOP YOU

Spit Spingola - 2012-03-03

Down in the Park seems to get covered a lot. Nobody ever tops Numan's originals, though. Even Billy Bailey with horns and French (but not French horns) doesn't.

Maybe Señor Coconut, after doing entire albums of YMO and Kraftwerk covers, can move on to Gary Numan and finally give us an Latin American-style cover of Remind Me To Smile.

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-03

So I'm thinking, what's the faggiest Gary Numan song I can cover in honour of Chairs. That would be Fmaj Amaj Gmag, yes? In fact, this is the chord progression for "I dream of wires", from the epochal 80's album "Telekon". Now I'm banging away on the six string and we'll see what develops. It has a strange bridge.

VoilaIntruder - 2012-03-03

The thing about Gary Numan is, not only is he a pop star, right, he's got a pilot's license. Imagine that!

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-03

At just seventeen! Sensational!

pastorofmuppets - 2012-03-03

I don't get it.

hammsangwich - 2012-03-03

This song is kind of lame without listening to it in the context of the entire album.

Billy the Poet - 2012-03-04

Handsome AND talented!

Bebido - 2012-03-04

Very supremely done. The vocals done in french meld so great with the song.
