for his checking out the fat employee's ass at 6:54.

Mancakes - 2012-03-08

I had no idea he ever ran for anything or what he looked like, but even without reading the title I hated this stilted impersonation of a human. I feel a little better about myself being able to read people so well.

StanleyPain - 2012-03-08

God yes...for a brief period he was everywhere, especially when he was hocking his "flat tax" thing, which got a lot of support from people who didn't really read up and realize it was a way of making it sound like your taxes would go down when, in fact, it was a way to make insanely wealty people's taxes go even lower.

FABIO - 2012-03-09

His flat tax was the 9-9-9 of the day.

FABIO - 2012-03-09

and 5 stars to offset the dimwits who can't comprehend the context and nuance of this.

sosage - 2012-03-08

I remember Clinton doing this during his first run at the presidency and it being a big deal...man of the people...average Joe...puts his pants on one leg at a time...eats the same 2 buck slop the rest of us eat...

What was great about it is moments like this. Not only is it cliche and unoriginal by 1996, but he comes off like he wishes he was at home enjoying his coffee and stuffed baby seal hearts instead.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-03-08

It wasn't like Clinton had to pretend he liked cheeseburgers and fries (and doughnuts and pie and on and on). His love of greasy stuff even became a running gag on Letterman.

I'd be surprised to see a Forbes magazine in a fast-food dive, much less someone with the last name.

hammsangwich - 2012-03-08

This is true. If I recall, the great Phil Hartman did a bit about it on SNL. Clinton did get pretty pudgy in office.

SolRo - 2012-03-08

He was actually looking for the little known hamburger eating fork, not a straw.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-03-08

I couldn't get through the first fifteen seconds. They aren't human.

Stopheles - 2012-03-08

3:53 - obligatory dig at the woman who sued McDonalds for them refusing to pay her medical bills after 200-degree coffee was spilled onto her lap, requiring that her third-degree-burned labia be unfused surgically.

Classic Republican moment - don't let the facts get in the way of throwing red meat to people who just want to be outraged about someone getting something.

spikestoyiu - 2012-03-09

How many people really knew how bad that situation was back in 1996, though? Not defending this doofus in any way as I'm not entirely sure the facts would change his opinion, but I feel like most people had no clue up until fairly recently (courtesy of Hot Coffee).

joelkazoo - 2012-03-08

"rich asshole" is not a linked tag? That needs to be fixed!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-03-08

caught me by surprise too

Old_Zircon - 2012-03-08

Forbes is a god damn cyborg.

candyheadrobot - 2012-03-09

nah, he's not nearly as cool as our cyborg brethren. you can tell by how he chews, he's likely to be a pod person, or potentially a secret Muslim.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-03-08

Rich guy eating a burger? What an asshole. The nerve of that man. One star because this isn't evil, its just a video of the guy eating and not doing anything remotely evil or offensive.

themilkshark - 2012-03-09

Way to come down hard on everyone. You must have lots of friends.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-08

I'm sort of on the fence. This is very run of the mill for a candidate, yes. But, the guy is pretty noticeably awkward and uncomfortable. To be fair, I would be too with a shit ton of camera's watching me eat.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2012-03-09

Zero for the photo op, five for Forbes' shit-eating grin.

Steve Forbes was also a Saturday Night Live host. I think the only thing people remember from that episode is Rage Against the Machine hanging two flags upside-down, and being kicked out of Studio 8H. Flat tax jokes also figured.

Aelric - 2012-03-09

Oh god, I forgot all about that smile!

themilkshark - 2012-03-09

He was afraid to eat the burger. Turns out, he likes that pink slime patty just like the rest of us peasants.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-09

I didn't make it past "this is my oers d'hoevre".

Xenocide - 2012-03-09

Look, everyone, a rich guy is doing a thing! Alert the media!

Forbes was a terrible candidate. This video is the most lifelike and relatable he ever got, and he spoke with a total lack of passion or emotion that gave him all the charisma of a hat rack.

That said, he's probably still better than any of the guys the GOP fielded this year.

CIWB - 2012-03-09

He reminds me of someone with Asperger's. Just gives off that vibe.

If the son of Malcolm Forbes and the heir to the Forbes fortune did have Asperger's, would it be diagnosed? Or would he just be considered quirky? Would anyone dare tell him how awkward he is?

Syd Midnight - 2012-03-19

A billionaire sperg would be a happy person, because they could spend their life quietly pursuing whatever obsessive hobby takes their interest. Designing light rail systems or collecting specific artifacts or birdwatching or something. The English upper class is loaded with them.

With billionaire dynasties, it's the psychopaths you have to worry about. They're not going to spend their productive years in jail like Your One Crazy Cousin, they're going to wind up in a position of great power and influence.

EvilHomer - 2012-03-09

But where's the fancy mustard?

Riskbreaker - 2012-03-09

THAT'S ONLY FOR LIBERAL COMMIE MUSLIMS LIKE OBAMA!

chumbucket - 2012-03-09

All of that goddamned media equipment on the wrong side of the counter making it harder for the min wage folks to do the shitty job they have to do everyday.

The Mothership - 2012-08-10

wow, I just realized there is a chandelier in that hamburger restaurant.
