Jesus.

Kids today growing up with a metric shit-ton of creator-driven animation airing on multiple channels don't know how good they have it.

Was this week's episode of "Adventure Time" not up to scratch? I grew up with "Hammerman." Whine to someone else.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-26

5 stars for you. Its funny to say that cartoons are better now and that I enjoy them more than when I was a kid.
Avatar: The Legend of Korra premiers next month!

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-26

Isn't it already out? I'm seeing a bunch of gifs from it circulating around.

Xenocide - 2012-03-26

It hasn't aired yet, but the first episode got leaked online.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-26

I saw the leak and I'll admit that I marked out like crazy.

takewithfood - 2012-03-26

Nickelodeon released the first two episodes early. It's pretty wonderful.

memedumpster - 2012-03-26

Loony Toons was superior all the way around, so the timeline actually looks like cartoons tanked utterly and are just now starting to claw their way back out. Not there yet though.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-26

Cartoons have been back and have surpassed Loony Toons. You're living in the past man.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-26

I watched cartoons when I was a kid, and then I stopped.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-26

I'm so impressed by your maturity Jet BIN Beiber. I bet once you finished that posting you poured yourself some brandy and started watching Masterpiece Theater or started reading Nietzsche.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-26

Uh-huh, right. Hey, Jet Bin, why don't we go over to the recently uploaded Lupin video and take a gander at how you're acting over there?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-27

I haven't been that much into animated series the last few years. But then I started watching Young Justice. Holy fuck, it's great. Just a shout out for anyone that hasn't caught it...it FAR exceeds any other superhero shit cartoons that have come around before it (namely Teen Titans, which blew).

takewithfood - 2012-03-27

Young Justice has great character development for a super hero cartoon.

pastorofmuppets - 2012-03-27

Batman: The Animated Series was so good nobody else bothered.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-27

Teen Titans didn't blow. It rocked. They should still be making it.

Quad9Damage - 2012-03-26

From what little I actually saw of this I don't remember it being that bad, although this intro looks pretty awful. Also, I think there was a PC game at some point.

Koda Maja - 2012-03-26

Better than the Dumb and Dumber cartoon. Not as good as the Mask cartoon.

chumbucket - 2012-03-26

Thank you for clarifying The Mask versus Mask. Two very different cartoon experiences.

Quad9Damage - 2012-03-26

Jim Carrey got a lot of cartoons made out of his movies in the early 90's. Did the same voice actor play the Jim Carrey characters in all the cartoon adaptations?

Raggamuffin - 2012-03-26

Oddly, no. Max Headroom did the Dumb & Dumber cartoon, Arthur from "The Tick" did Mask, and this one well...He's been in a lot of stuff, be my guest:

cognitivedissonance - 2012-03-26

I liked the Mask cartoon. The animated Cher really brought it all together.

Xenocide - 2012-03-26

There was an episode where Ace Venture met The Mask. There were two fake Jim Carreys running around and then I wanted to shoot myself.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-26

Lauren Faust could make this into an awesome show.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-26

Oh, no! Gummy has gone missing!

Blue - 2012-03-26

In the second movie, if you aren't listening carefully, you can get the impression that the names of the tribes are the Hutu and the Tutsi. For years I thought the second movie was about Ace Ventura stopping the Rwandan Genocide.

LetsFistAgain - 2012-03-26

For some of the crap he may star in nowadays, one has to remember that Carrey could have easily turned into a new Eddie Murphy.

TheSupafly - 2012-03-26

I knew kids who were super obsesses with Ace Ventura, and I remember it at least being important enough to me that I would see references to it everywhere I went like it was the biggest thing ever- even if it wasn't really everywhere. So of course some of them had every episode recorded.

joelkazoo - 2012-03-26

Could use a "of course there's a cartoon!" tag.

Spoonybard - 2012-03-27

I saw a DVD in a store the other day. It was called Ace Ventura Jr. It had a fat little boy dressed like Ace Ventura on the front. It was made in 2009.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-27

Watch the trailer. I submitted it here years ago. It will burn your retinas.

Spoonybard - 2012-03-27

I can't get over how fat that boy is

He's the physical opposite of Jim Carrey, who is weirdly tall and thin and full of sharp corners
