Nyms Lives! - 2012-03-30

Guys, guys, he was just saying Obama was "near"...

Old_Zircon - 2012-03-30

For you!

The Mothership - 2012-03-31

Ring out the church-bells, strike up the band!

dead_cat - 2012-03-31

Near all those Blah people?

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-03-30

Yeah, we know, where is that guy? Any of you seen him? Coz our anti-war government nigga is now a corporate Uncle Tom.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-03-30

I have a friend that will swear up and down that there's no difference between Republicans and Democrats, then turn around and tell me why he's (still) voting solidly Republican, in spite of the party being run by religious nutters.

I'm sorry, but even if both parties are corrupted by money, one of them revels in it while the other at least makes an effort at reigning in what the monied interests are doing (though their opposites across the aisle kill any attempts). Only one party wants to give the uber-wealthy more tax breaks and kill off what little social safety net threads are still present. Only one party will propose regulatory legislation that might curb some of the economically destructive bullshit that's been going on for the past forty years, and so on.

Obama's not perfect, and neither are the Democrats. But holy mother of fuck, the GOP is an insane asylum where they play Ayn Rand audiobooks over the muzak system 24/7, except on Sundays where they all worship Supply-Side Jesus for half the day.

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

If the Republican Party ceased to exist, would you still find the behavior of the Democratic Party to be acceptable?

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

Don't reply, I'm trolling. I used to argue with my dad a lot about his "lesser of two evils" philosophy of voting. I really don't want to argue, but the rebuttals pop into my head pretty much automatically.

I'm an idiot, ignore me.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-30

A silly question.

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

Bill Clinton repealed Glass-Steagall and Obama had an American citizen in a foreign country assassinated openly and unashamedly without trial. As a Democrat, both of these actions piss me off.

I think the true difference between Republicans and Democrats (politicians, not voters, we're all equally stupid as voters) is that Republicans know and wholeheartedly endorse the evil, while Democrats deny they do.

pineapplejuicer - 2012-03-30

my five are for steampoweredkleenex's description of the GOP in the last paragraph of his first troll here

Spoonybard - 2012-03-30

In Clinton's defense, the Glass-Steagall repeal was a Republican-sponsored bill passed by a Republican congress

Oktay - 2012-03-30

Plus his veto power was out because the chick got lost in the male.

Bort - 2012-03-30

SteamPoweredKleenex: I get that from one of my coworkers too, who insists that all politicians are the same, yet steadfastly votes Republican. What he's doing is trying to exempt himself from any responsibility for voting for people who, he realizes at some level, are gradually destroying America.

memedumpster: "lesser of two evils" isn't even the point. The point is, if you want good government, you kick the worst people out as a first step and you keep them out. It's only after they've been given the boot that you can turn a critical eye to what's left. Every other approach results in the worst people just getting stronger.

If you don't think that holds up, consider the 2010 election, where we got rid of almost all the Blue Dogs ... which sounds good until you realize they were replaced by Teabaggers. Suddenly it becomes clear: Blue Dogs come from very conservative districts, where the alternative is a shambling Lovecraftian horror. You're not going to get Dennis Kucinich to Congress in a district that gives serious thought to the likes of Paul Ryan, but you can at least keep Paul Ryan out of power.

Hooker - 2012-03-30

My friends are idiots. They complained for the last three years straight about how awful Obama is, but they're going to vote for him anyway.

Bort - 2012-03-30

Obama's not perfect, but he's better than the complainers deserve.

The biggest problems are with Congress anyway, and you can't make some people understand that Obama can't overrule Congress just because he wants to -- representative democracy has its consequences. There were 70 Democrats in the Senate when Medicare was passed; these days almost half the Senate is Republicans, and they're the shittiest generation of Republicans yet. If you want Congress to be able to pass good laws, first you've got to get rid of the Republicans.

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

"The point is, if you want good government, you kick the worst people out as a first step and you keep them out."

235 years and this has never worked.

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

Well, except when it happened to King George (of England, not Bush).

TeenerTot - 2012-03-30

I can't believe he'd really almost say that.
But I can't think of another word he might have been looking for.

"anti-war, government nicotine addict?"
"anti-war, government noodlehead?"
Nothing makes sense.

What the hell...I'm willing to believe he's used that word.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-30

Nipple?

Nickel?

Nipsey Russel lookalike?

Nippon Banzai?

Raggamuffin - 2012-03-30

The "g" sound is in there. Whatever he was about to say, it definitely started with "Nig".

Anyone else notice how ragged his voice is starting to sound?

Cena_mark - 2012-03-30

Nicotine addict works. I think Obama may have quit, but most ex-smokers I know still consider themselves addicted.

Cena_mark - 2012-03-30

He could cop out and say he was going for "niggardly" but considering the national debt you know that can't be true.

spikestoyiu - 2012-03-30

Knickers. Government knickers.

they'reforyou - 2012-03-30

No, no, no. He was clearly trying to say "anti-war government blah people."

FABIO - 2012-03-30

Nickelback fan

Blue - 2012-03-30

He meant to say "sandnigger" but somehow it came out wrong.

memedumpster - 2012-03-30

"Negotiator." He changed it because he didn't want Obama to seem cooperative and bipatisan (no I don't believe this, just playing along).

crojo - 2012-04-01

I assume he had "house nigger" on his mind, and after "white house" his predictive text just took over.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-03-30

I know Rick Santorum, he's a good friend of mine, and Rick is the last person in the world to ever be racist in any way!

takewithfood - 2012-03-30

This can't possibly hurt him in the polls, though.

jangbones - 2012-03-31

considering the half of the party he's appealing to, it can only help

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-30

This is what comes from basing your campaign around negativity and hate. Even if that wasn't what he was going to say, he's given everyone more than enough reason to believe that he meant to.

Pompoulus - 2012-03-30

Just say it, buddy. Just say what's on your mind.

SolRo - 2012-03-30

I don't want to hear about his obsession with penis and meth.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-30

I do!

dead_cat - 2012-03-31

Penis and meth and women doing women and black men doing his ass!

I'm pretty sure Santorum must spend every waking minute consciously keeping himself from blurting out all his secret desires.

Hooker - 2012-03-30

Pretty soon we're going to get the Downfall meme with simply the text of a Santorum speech.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-03-30

Speaking to the heart of his supporters.

Spaceman Africa - 2012-03-30

And Rick Santorum always seemed the least racist out of the 4 candidates.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-03-30

Make no mistake, had he actually used the word, he'd have the nomination wrapped up by Tuesday. "How brave!" they'd say. "How bold! This is a leader not afraid of liberal media bullying!"

Riskbreaker - 2012-03-30

Pretty much this.

Triggerbaby - 2012-03-30

It wouldn't do anything for him. Santorum has already got the racist asshole vote (well, except for the ones voting for Paul), and it wouldn't steal anybody from either of Romney's camps, the anti-poor and the I-want-a-remotely-electable-Republican-candidate voters.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-03-31

They just want to unapologetically get one last lynching in, and then they'll let it go. I really think this is the case.

badideasinaction - 2012-03-30

Meh, it's just desperation trying to take the White Power votes from Ron Paul.

Toenails - 2012-03-30

I heard him say "Nigga".

Cleary, this man listens to too much Gangsta Rap.

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2012-03-30

It wasn't "nigger" with an "r" it was nigga with an "a", it's totally different!

Tobster - 2012-03-30

He just thought he was doing a Def Comedy Jam show, but then he remembered that he was at The Improv.

StanleyPain - 2012-03-30

Forget all this garbage about whether or not he was going to say nigger....it's far more noteworthy/newsworthy that he is referring to a president who raised military spending, extended the Bush military spending increases, and then authorized military operations against Osama Bin Laden as well as semi-unconstitutional military action in Syria as an "anti-war radical."

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-03-30

You speak as if right-wing rhetoric is expected to have some kind of basis, however flimsy, in reality. What planet do you live on?

StanleyPain - 2012-03-31

True. When Obama killed Osama it was "OMG HE'S AN OUT OF CONTROL, POWER MAD DICTATOR WHO WILL GET US ALL KILLED" but when decided not to bomb Iran it's "HE'S A HIPPIE RADICAL COMMUNIST WHO THINKS HE TALK HIS WAY OUT OF EVERY PROBLEM"

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-03-31

You know what? I have no love for the Frothy One, but I think this video has been doctored. Maybe to some, it's too obvious to be objectionable, but I do not approve this message.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-03-30

That's Our Santorum!

(cue wacky theme music)

Meerkat - 2012-03-30

He was going to say government negotiator but then realized that sounded too reasonable for a kenyan muslim socialist nig uh what I mean your majesty is that you stand out like a shaft of gold when all around is dark I mean night.

StanleyPain - 2012-03-31

*****

pastorofmuppets - 2012-03-31

I feel like this is reaching. There's plenty of fully formed sentences I can hate him for.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-03-31

Reaching for what? I don't think the objective here is to make Santorum supporters see the light--there probably aren't many on PoeTV. The point, for me, is to take this man who has indeed made a great deal of despicable, fully-formed utterances, and laugh and jeer at him because he's so odious he can barely restrain himself from saying 'Nigger' in a public venue in front of cameras.

stifford - 2012-03-31

I thought he was going to say ninja...

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-03-31

Anti-war, government ninjers and their ninjer magic!

Robin Kestrel - 2012-03-31

I pity his kids.

babachu - 2012-04-03

I think Santorm is worthy of his official definition and is as evil as they come. Also that the GOP and Democrats really just belong to the same terrible "Money Party" which needs to be exposed for any return to a sensible reality.

But for the sake of being better then the assholes at fox news and their minions, where is the rest of the video so we can know for sure? I doubt it ends there.
