Kill me now.

FreeOJ - 2012-04-17

we need to use the tag: self-control, inner peace more

Redford - 2012-04-16

I am clearly not female enough to think this is a good idea.

Innocent Bystander - 2012-04-16

This lady puts butter in her pasta?

Also: stop the presses, peanut butter has a lot of calories!

American Standard - 2012-04-16

Related.

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm
And she's right. American portion sizes are fucking mental.

Nikon - 2012-04-16

I have to agree with you.

pastorofmuppets - 2012-04-16

Oh yeah, she's right. I think she may have overestimated the pasta, honestly.

Old_Zircon - 2012-04-16

More importantly, that pasta has basically no nutritional value.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-04-16

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-04-16

Ok, how did you make it bold?

pastorofmuppets - 2012-04-16

heh

it's a site bug that can be exploited by URLs of a certain length. probably 64 characters, but I don't remember for sure or if that's the only part.

kingofthenothing - 2012-04-17

looks like a broken break tag where the b and r have a space. I don't know if that would work but here goes.

DerangedGoblin - 2012-04-16

I'm gonna put myself in the firing line and say I don't get what's bad about this. Unless I'm mistaken, women are supposed to get around 2000 calories a day. So assuming this lady is saying to only have 300 calories per meal, there's 900. She also said snacks were cool, so there's another 600. Plus the red wine (which she seems to be condoning) and you have 1800. Presumably she's okay with having some sort of other drink with your breakfast and lunch, so maybe that fills in the gaps. I'm just not seeing anything wrong here...

SolRo - 2012-04-16

Most of PoE are self-hating fatties?

Jericho - 2012-04-16

In general, I think calorie counting sort of implies a lack of understanding of good nutrition. The worst thing she does in this video, by far, is use enriched pasta. You should really be focusing less on how much you eat and focus more on just eating the best possible things.

SolRo - 2012-04-16

7000 calories of the best raw food and organic bullshit will still make you obese.

spikestoyiu - 2012-04-16

I wish I could remember who it was on here that told me I didn't know anything about nutrition because I took offense to the fact that they claimed fruit juice was nutritionally on par with soda due to the calories.

This lady's groundbreaking information brought to you by reading nutritional labels and knowing how to operate measuring cups.

Macho Nacho - 2012-04-16

It's how eating disorders starts.

Jericho - 2012-04-16

You aren't going to eat 7000 calories if you eat only whole foods because they're a lot more efficient at satiating you...ignoring the weird false dichotomy here.

sosage - 2012-04-16

I don't see the problem either. It's just 2000 calories spread across several meals for a petite person. If you're exercising or staying active on a regular basis your (healthy food) calorie intake likely goes up anyways because or burning it off and your body craving other fuels (protein/glucose...but I'm not a nutrition expert).

Or up your portions and just sit on your ass in front of POETV all day with your party hat. Fatties.

pastorofmuppets - 2012-04-16

I thought it was evil that it has to be said at all, and to a lesser extent that makeup scares me.

Adding to what Jericho said: on paper, calories are calories, but in reality people who care about the quality of their food end up eating less processed garbage and cooking more. I'm talking more about slow-food types, not the tater-tot vegetarians.

And AFAIK semolina is slightly less bad than bleached/enriched flour but maybe someone could clue me in there.

memedumpster - 2012-04-16

I'm about to go scarf a few thousand calories of bratwurst and sour kraut with beer.

Envy my slow death, poeTV.

Tripitaka - 2012-04-16

Her advice is sound, but wrapped in an oh so very punchable package. Thin thighs and inner peace are of equal value in her little world.

If it's like Ocean Spray or something it pretty much IS soda, to be fair. Real fruit juice,no. Although it's still not the best way to eat fruit, since it's so easy to overeat. A big glass of orange juice is what, 6-8 oranges worth of juice?

spikestoyiu - 2012-04-16

My arguments were that A) all fruit juice is not created equal and that B) 200 calories of one item is not always equal to 200 calories of another item. Their argument was that a kid drinking a Coke was really no worse than drinking a juice box or something. I dunno -- it was a while ago, so maybe I'm not remembering it 100%. But what it boils down to is: soda is completely, nutritionally bankrupt. Even crap like Ocean Spray is going to have a few milligrams of C in it. And was, at one point, actual food. It's no replacement for fruit or even any good for you, but we were really just arguing soda vs. fruit juice.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-04-16

Eat fruit like a normal human being and cut some fruit juice with water and ice if you want a fruity beverage. This isn't rocket science.

spikestoyiu - 2012-04-16

"It's no replacement for fruit or even any good for you, but we were..." ah, fuck it.

memedumpster - 2012-04-17

Ah, what a night, you guys should have been there... are you all still talking about this?

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-04-16

Homegirl lands a Would, but I Would need ear plugs.

Jericho - 2012-04-16

The way she said "a little red wine" gave me some horrible flashbacks

lordyam - 2012-04-16

glasseye - 2012-04-16

Where "glamorous" = "anorexic"

RocketBlender - 2012-04-16

That's honestly a decent portion of pasta, especially considering it hasn't been cooked yet.

I wonder if she has one about proper portion control of Botox.

Probably not.

apiaryist - 2012-04-16

Thousands on a nice home, makeup, accessories, (maybe) lighting, and kitchen accessories. Not even one mic?

Also, not evil. Unless she's advocating 300 a day.
