So if this place ends up becoming Reddit's sloppy seconds what does it mean for the future.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-04-29 I'm lucky enough to have never been to reddit, so I don't know what sort of stuff gets posted there. But, I have seen videos here with the same old lazy descriptions and tags I imagine they have on that worthless website. And, even though everything here is essentially a repost of something someone else created, they should at least try to be original and put their own spin on it.
Oh, and I'm glad the "...on the tin" bullshit isn't around anymore.

baleen - 2012-04-30 Reddit has no purpose. It has no rules. There's no prime directive that separates the userbase from the exhibits. It's an open cesspool. It's like 4chan but without the organic and unique culture that took years to develop there. Interesting things are submitted to Reddit where they are torn to pieces by stupid people, they then cease to be interesting and are cast aside. It is the Tennessee Nashville Network of media sharing sites.

FatFatuousNation - 2012-05-01 Wow, baleen. Sounds like you need to unsubscribe from /r/funny. Reddit does a great job of bringing whatever is most compelling for a group of people to the front page. If the group of people is heavily loaded with children, then childish things will go to the front page. If you subscribe to only subreddits that mostly only adults are interested in, such as /r/science and /r/worldnews and /r/[your city], you'll suddenly have a website full of compelling articles for crotchety adults like you and me.
