This has to be CGI, at least the shooting.

fedex - 2012-04-23

yah its CG

misterbuns - 2012-04-23

the model looks practical but the muzzle flashes look after effects.

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2012-04-23

Definitely a practical model. It kicks up dust and moves the smoke around when it moves through it. Very involved to do that in CG at that level.

I'd be willing to say they at least had an airgun or something on board. That kick when it fires is real.

I wonder though - could the added flashes just be to enhance the look of a real gun? Maybe it just wasn't flashy enough for video?

misterbuns - 2012-04-23

With that kind of direct sunlight the flashes wouldnt read that hot.

SolRo - 2012-04-23

the recoil from that high a caliber sounding weapon would probably spin it around, not push it back slightly.

wasnt going to one star till i saw that he is working for treyarch.

as far as particle sims go, doing the stuff in this video (dust on take off, clouds of flame) is pretty simple with Fume in Max, especially when your end format is supposed to look like an AAC compressed youtube video from an amateur.

fuck this marketing.

Faker than the lazy russian accent.

So the 'gun' is just a barrel with a tube running into it. Couldn't have anything to do with that Call of Duty plug!
