5 STARS!

Cats are creepy. I cannot look into the eyes of a cat and see anything resembling a soul. They're like velociraptors with fur. The insanity it must take to liken them to human children is unfathomable to me. Five stars of unsettled fascination, I lay them down.

"And this blank stare speaks only of a half-bored interest in food."

As an owner of 4 cats, I can actually say cats are a lot like kids. I wouldn't go so far as to anthropomorphize my cats into WIDDLE KEYOOT KIDDIES but taking care of them does actually feel very similar to taking care of kids (or at least, babysitting them). They get into little family squabbles, they can be moody, they often need to be monitored so as to not do something stupid, they demand attention on their own schedule regardless of all other considerations, etc. Cats are actually very interesting, cool, involving pets when they are taken care of properly and of good breeds. All my cats are actually family (in the literal sense..they're all blood related to each other) and it's really interesting and special to see blood related cats all sort of get along and inherit the same traits and such, but I have no delusions that they have their own weird world and that while I inhabit some place in it where they have affection for me, it is NOT remotely some tinkly, shiny, piano-musicy place. People like this are usually very creepy. Sometimes their cats are OK despite being treated like "babies" or whatever, but the people are usually horrible.

For me it boils down to: locking the door when i sleep, so they don't wake me up at fucking 7 am to feed them (they still scratch the door anyway) Being aware that there's always one of them who prefers to shit outside the box. Be careful when i come back from the super market, cuz one steals the entire bag of bread and runs with it. Go to sleep and repeat the next day.

They are disgusting, cruel, manipulative and often eat their own shit, likening them to cats is truly unfathomable. Children, how fucking crazy do you have to be to have one?

The Townleybomb - 2012-05-15

Elfin, Merlin and Fairy.

hammsangwich - 2012-05-15

I'd say this lady is a deuce, deuce and a half.

pathetique - 2012-05-16

If you fall down this lady's YouTube rabbit hole, you learn that Fairy's full, Christian name is Fairy Princess.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-05-15

Cats are fine, it's the "Moms" you need to worry about.

Chalkdust - 2012-05-16

ah, narcissism by proxy

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-05-16

"She teaches us right from wrong."

For a cat, that's about as likely as teaching a Labrador to not chase squirrels.

The Mothership - 2012-05-16

that's some great username / submission synergy right there.

I wonder if she knows that if she is unfortunate enough to die alone in her house (likely), the first things to be eaten will be he extremities.

Simillion - 2012-05-16

"She's always covered in fur." ALWAYS.
