And of course what he said was an attack on Rev. Wright and the President's faith. He had just gotten done saying he opposes attacks on Rev. Wright and the President's faith.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-05-18

I find it really odd that the GOP can get away with using Rev. Wright's "God damn America" line, which was about racial inequality (that is, if we don't stop being racist assholes, God will condemn/damn our country) while we've got piles and piles of GOP religious right lunatics saying that God's going to wipe out America with meteors, hurricanes, plagues, etc.

At least Wright wasn't pimping for donations, asking viewers to touch the screen, or claiming that Jeebus was personally giving him his "blow up America for teh ghey/abortion/whatever" strike plan.

Stopheles - 2012-05-18

Well, Wright was calling for equality, whereas Robertson is calling for oppression. Pretty clear difference.

I don't know what they have to say,
It makes no difference anyway,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
No matter what it is or who commenced it,
I'm against it.

Your proposition may be good,
But let's have one thing understood,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And even when you've changed it or condensed it,
I'm against it.

I'm opposed to it,
On general principle, I'm opposed to it.

He's opposed to it.
In fact, indeed, that he's opposed to it!

For months before my son was born,
I used to yell from night to morn,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And I've kept yelling since I first commenced it,
I'm against it!

The last man nearly ruined this place
He didn't know what to do with it.
If you think this country's bad off now
Just wait 'till I get through with it.

I respect the ambition of the statement, if not that speaker - or anything he's ever said.

Riskbreaker - 2012-05-18

"Cool story to myself...bro"

Xenocide - 2012-05-18

This is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney gets what he wants. And Mitt Romney wants to be president.

Why are you people making Mitt Romney do all this campaigning? Mitt Romney is confused by the concept of having to earn something.

Nail on head.

sosage - 2012-05-18

Nicola: For fuck's sake, Malcolm!

Malcolm: Shouldn't that be "Of fuck's sake"?

Nicola: What?

Malcolm: Can I just quote it to you? "The Prime Minister is the right man for the moment"

Nicola: Yeah, that's what you told me to say.

Malcolm: Of the moment! I said Of the moment! There is a huge difference between me saying "Nicola, I'd like to go for a walk with you" and "Nicola, I'm going to make a hat out of your entrails."

This is what these clips make me think of. I hope every politician has a Malcolm they have to get mentally and verbally abused by off stage.

fatatty - 2012-05-19

I think a Malcolm is exactly what Romney is missing. He would likely never allow anyone to talk down to him like that though, so it would never happen.

dek863 - 2012-05-18

Word salad.

CIWB - 2012-05-18

I admit that I am biased towards President Obama.

With that said, if this is used in campaign ads in the run-up to election day, I can see it being extremely helpful to Obama's campaign. The election will come down to the undecideds in swing states, and nobody likes wishy-washy wimps like Romney.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-05-18

You'd think a republican, of all people, would know not to act like Bush.

Toenails - 2012-05-18

Or Kerry for that matter.

"I was for the war before I was against it."

Romney: The least bad candidate a bunch of billionaires could find
