I'm still in Korea and expatriates are going bazonkers over this.

CIWB - 2012-06-01

It's pretty much expected, though, isn't it? I mean, Korea is notorious for its xenophobia and rampant nationalism. I'm from America, and our nationalism, as bad as it is, is positively quaint compared to these guys.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-06-01

That was one of the things that I noticed most, right away. Korean pride in Korea is pretty intense.

My experience has been pretty positive overall. I've met one American teacher that has a Korean girlfriend and the two are really a cute couple. I've been happy for him but I just hope that no one takes their racist bullshit out on either of them.

Cena_mark - 2012-06-01

Korean pride in Korea? They act like they live in America or something.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-06-01

I think you've just gotten too used to America's horrible nationalism to recognize it anymore.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-06-01

Where in Korea are you guys? I'm in Changwon and I this is the first I've heard of this. I haven't noticed anyone giving me the stink eye but I like to ignore people in general. So maybe my ignorance is bliss.

CIWB - 2012-06-01

I'm in Osan. This is the first I've heard of it, too. But I also like to ignore people in general...

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-06-01

Also I love the part where they call the one woman to expose her as being the victim of a foreigner.

Woman: No, I'm fine. That's a lie.

OBVIOUSLY SHE'S IN PAIN FROM THE VICIOUS FOREIGNER MAKING HER LIFE A LIVING HELL!

Aelric - 2012-06-01

I love how I used to be THE guy in Korea, and now there are many. When did you get there ROUS?

Cena_mark - 2012-06-01

Its this economy. Desperate people in bad economies do this sort of thing.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-06-01

I got here three months ago and Cena, I wanted to come here before the economy was garbage. And I am picking up invaluable resume skills at that.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-06-01

What, teaching English?

Cena_mark - 2012-06-01

At a crossroads in my life I was deciding on 2 different option. Teach English in Korea or join the military. I made the badass choice.

Incredibly hungover Incheon-dweller reporting in.

Aelric - 2012-06-01

The obviously hacked up expert testimony is great too. For all we know, he was disagreeing with the interviewer and they cut and pasted it into an agreement.

SolRo - 2012-06-01

Just started seeing Korean tourism commercials showing up on TV, first time I can remember seeing them, wonder if there's a relation.

dek863 - 2012-06-01
