"still being built today, under license...in Egypt" This is a car I can see myself in at some point.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-06-10

Welcome to the cars Occupy New York would build.

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-06-10

Ha. You're not old enough to remember why it is we are all driving Japanese cars now, but you are old enough to help bail out Detroit with your tax dollars.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-06-10

Communism, maybe not. But, Fascism, hell yes.

threads - 2012-06-10

Fascist Cars is my new band name.

duck&cover - 2012-06-10

Wasn't there an East German car that you had to take the motor out and shake it before you started it?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-06-11

For a while, Saab cars required a fuel/oil mix.

French cars are still pretty much screwball, I think. Not that they're bad, per se, just that they insist on doing pretty much everything differently.

Senator_Unger - 2012-06-11

Brits make terrible cars too, what are they so smug about?

RockBolt - 2012-06-11

I guess you never saw the British Leyland episode

Cena_mark - 2012-06-11

So much butt-hurt over the failure of communism. It failed, it sucked, get over it.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-06-11

Unregulated capitalism isn't looking so hot, either.

As for Libertarianism, that's just Communism with a different coat of paint. Both isms rely on everyone thinking that nobody would DREAM of taking over and becoming the supreme leader, or that some kind of "natural forces" would prevent such a thing. Both ideologies are quite naive.

Cena_mark - 2012-06-11

If libertarians ran the world we'd be driving amphibious, flying, rocket powered, time travelling, teleporting, super cars.

SolRo - 2012-06-11

that'd be kinda hard to achieve after all the scientists and engineers leave the planet.

and libertarians think basic research that might lead to teleporting/time travel/etc in some scifi future is a giant waste of taxpayer money, so that wouldn't happen.

Cena_mark - 2012-06-11

You know I'm no longer a super hard core libertarian. I like moderately regulated capitalism.

SolRo - 2012-06-15

So you aren't a libertarian then.
