Hmm. I'll take a stab at this one.
This is a cartoon about a post-human civilization that arose from genetically altered pigs that had been created for human organ transplant. The Franken-Vampire we saw is the last surviving human who has been staying alive thanks to harvesting practices among the sapient pigs.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-06-18
The wolves are constantly trying to murder and eat a group of children, but nobody seems to want to take any sort of definitive action against them for it.

"We'll remake Ducktales...with PIGS!"

TheSupafly - 2012-06-18
Wasn't barnyard commandos on around the same time? Were pig-based shows a hot ticket at some time?
|
spiteful crow - 2012-06-19
So I'm guessing the whole show was about the pigs finding new and inventive ways to abuse that duck in every episode.

This looks instantly forgettable. Kids would click past this almost as fast as the Hammerman cartoon.

Xenocide - 2012-06-19
Oh, so it's a bunch of wacky pig kids having fun at the beach and playing sports and stuff?
Oh, and there's bumbling wolves who keep trying to eat them? Okay.
And...wait, now it's about them fighting Dracula? That seems out of place. Oh, and zombies. Of course.
Huh. So now it's about them in outer space. And now...it's not.
That theme song should have ended with the line "we have no idea what our premise is! Piggsburg Pigs!"

The Mothership - 2012-06-19
so how far did the duck-with-a-flashlight-down-its-throat gag last? I'm guessing several episodes.

So it's Scooby Doo, but with pigs...and the dog is replaced with a duck that they physically abuse?
|
Redford - 2012-06-19
So wait, the wolves evil plan was to stand around disguised as two pigs with an ice-cream cart which secretly had a cooking pot inside until one of the pigs surfing totally ate a gnarly wave and landed in it.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-06-19 So the writers grew up on old monster films and episodes of Scooby-Doo.

Wow. I would watch pretty much ANYTHING animated when this thing premiered, and yet, I don't remember it at all.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2012-06-19

From the Fox Kids Wikipedia:
"In 1988, Disney purchased Los Angeles television station KHJ-TV, later renaming it as KCAL-TV. The station's new owners wanted DuckTales to be shown on KCAL, thus taking it away from Fox-owned KTTV. Furious at the breach of contract, Diller pulled DuckTales from all other Fox owned-and-operated stations in the fall of 1989. Diller also encouraged Fox affiliates to do the same, though most did not initially. As Disney went forward in building the Disney Afternoon, Fox then began preparing its own children's programming system."
So, Piggsburg Pigs! was essentially on Fox Kids to spite Disney? Makes sense.
|
Toenails - 2012-06-19 Also to spite the children watching it. Don't forget that these stations took away Ducktales for this.
FOR THIS!!!
|
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-06-19 So was Diller then transferred to the Fox News division? He sounds like Roger Ailes' kind of guy.
