ohmygodohmygodohmygod... This is the answer to so many prayers.

chairsforcheap - 2012-07-09

one of the greatest episodes ever. Once they stopped giving a shit about sci fi channel's mandate to make sure every damn movie was sci fi the show got back to joel-level quality

Bort - 2012-07-09

??? Season eight gave us "The Undead" by its sixth episode, and later "Agent from H.A.R.M.", "Riding with Death", "Jack Frost", and "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies". Still a sci-fi heavy season, but they mixed it up.

MY GOD, DAVID!

chairsforcheap - 2012-07-09

Pumaman, dude. Don't worry, that season is easily one of the most consistently amazing... Every movie you named is one of my faves

memedumpster - 2012-07-09

Season eight also had the Island... er, Parts the Clonus Horror I mean.

Innocent Bystander - 2012-07-09

This maybe here already but it's (sadly) the first thing I thought when I heard Ernie had kicked the bucket so five stars and a merry R.I.P.

Black Napkins - 2012-07-09

Me too, and I had to tell other people that he just died. It took me a minute or two to think of McHale's Navy or Airwolf.

This one is also weird because it aired after the season ended and I didn't get to see this one until years later.

"So evil wins, Grandpa Borgnine?"
"That's right, even your tiny soul is doomed, Billy."

"No, Grandpa Borgnine, leave light and hope for me, please!"
"Get out from behind that cushion, Billy; it gets worse!"

I always assumed this episode of MST3K was the source of poeTV's ear mites joke.

Innocent Bystander - 2012-07-09

It isn't?

Bort - 2012-07-09

I'm pretty sure this is where it started:

The second half of the movie (which has my favorite scene, the overacting, crazy psychic lady) is a repackaging of a low budget TV movie called "The Gift" (based on the Stephen King story) and if anyone's curious, the original ending is just the family trying to escape the house and then the screen just cuts to black with the sound of an explosion.

blue vein steel - 2012-07-09

i like the new ending where the dad temporarily turns into a dummy.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-09

I should watch this. One of the few I never saw, except maybe the first 20 minutes. The sci-fi channel version of MST3K was as great as ever, except that some of the movies... well, they were bad, and all. they just weren't "so bad it's good". The color shot-on-video stuff from the 80s and 90s was cheap and dreary, but... I dunno...

Of course, MST3K is an automatic five stars. Time to give this one another chance.

Aelric - 2012-07-09

Your logic is flimsy. Some of those were the greatest episodes.

Fur is Murder - 2012-07-09

Rock 'n Roll Martian!

chairsforcheap - 2012-07-09

Aubrey McFate - 2012-07-15
