This was such an awful movie. I loved watching it when I was younger, but damn, it has NOT aged well.

what a story arc!!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-07-11

You have to love a mall where only about 10% of its patrons are afraid of an actual flying dinosaur alien.

dementomstie - 2012-07-11

Well it's only scary when it's flying AT you, otherwise it's just kind of interesting to see. This is standard Mall Watching Protocol.

uekibachi - 2012-07-11

is the white person who was not on the x-files really fat and bald now? for some reason i can picture that.

YakooMarkTwo - 2012-07-11

I have fond memories of this movie. -1 star for trying to ruin those memories by making me, you know, watch it.

BHWW - 2012-07-11

From what I've heard it was originally supposed to be a serious sci-fi/horror movie until Reitman got a hold of it and rewrote it as a "wacky" comedy - at least a couple of the trailers tried to make it out to be something like "Men in Black" but the horrible truth was more composed of awkward jokes and Julianne Moore doing face-first pratfalls.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-11

It's got "we want to be the next Ghostbusters SO bad" written all over it.

Also, guys running through malls with guns causing no response. Is this Texas?

And I use the term "running" quite wrongly. They're doing the run-walk that kids who didn't want to be in gym class used when told to do laps.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-07-11

It's the "Trying to maintain your dignity while in a hurry" run.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-07-11

I'm surprised that this movie's ending has not been repeated unironically many times over.

TheSupafly - 2012-07-11

This was one of those movies I watched in high school because we just wanted to do fucking do something. We were talking over it at normal volume literally the entire movie, and nobody cared.

big pincers - 2012-07-11

this is the definition of mediocrity. what a funny sceen...

Binro the Heretic - 2012-07-11

My brain before the movie:

"HEY! It's directed by the guy who directed 'Ghostbusters' and it's got Mulder from 'The X Files', the feminist lady from 'The Big Lebowski' and that one black dude from 'MadTV'! AWESOME!"

My brain after the movie:

"If I focus my rage and disappointment hard enough, can I give them all diarrhea telepathically? Well, not Moore, but the rest of them can get the squirts, for all I care."

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-12

Was he "that one black dude from 'MadTV'?" I thought at the time he was "that one black dude from the 7up commercials."

Binro the Heretic - 2012-07-12

He was both.

dead_cat - 2012-07-12

The movie made me angriest because you could see the bits and pieces of a decent movie floating around in that sea of Shit I Need To Punch Real Hard.
