I'm not into gaming, but even I know that an "ultimate gamer girl" competition that doesn't involve any actual game-playing is horseshit, like everything else on Maxim. These girls seem pretty stupid and annoying, but Marie Curie would look stupid and annoying if you put her in a Maxim contest.

The fact that Maxim is doing a gamer girl competition pretty solid evidence that gaming is now a mainstream activity that every frat pledge is pursuing in every dorm, and here comes Maxim to exploit in a cheap superficial way that doesn't really mean anything. They're not really about gaming. they're not really about ANYTHING, other than going where the market research leads them.

Again, they're not really playing games any games. I think that says it all. To work some games into a competition for "ultimate gamer girl" seems way beyond obvious.

I really enjoy when women like this insist they aren't and don't want to be lumped in the "gamer gurl" category cause they are "real gamers" (whatever the fuck that means).
