Look, you can trust Mitt not to be dishonest because he's given deductible amounts of money to charities (specifically Mormon ones who send millions to his campaign) and didn't take a salary (except the hundreds of millions he got while at a job he claims he didn't work at).

So stop asking for records of his finances. Surely the financial records prove you don't need to see them? Which you'd know if we let you see them. But we won't, because you obviously don't need to.

If we told you what was in them, all you'd do is use it to attack us. And the election isn't going to be about topics which reflect poorly on us. Because we say so.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-07-20

(Fuckbot's head explodes)

Robin Kestrel - 2012-07-20

You just know Willard's pissing and moaning about how demeaning campaigning is and why don't they just make him president already, jeez?!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-19

I find it truly disheartening to see people so stupid as to ignore the fact that the rich have seen their taxes shrink for over 40 years, with no resulting increase in wages, jobs, or the standard of living thanks to giving more of our nation's wealth to the "job creators." They also soley blame Obama for the economy, ignoring Bush's terms in office and the GOP filibustering everything that could help in the Senate (the latest was a bill to get rid of tax deductions for shipping jobs overseas and giving tax credits for relocating back to the US) just so they can say it's Obama's fault.

Then they claim it's all about jobs while restricting birth control, abortion, and disenfranchising the most vulnerable voting classes.

I'm having to constantly re-define evil thanks to these fuckers, and they've got this smiling robot leading them who thinks/computes that waitressing is a job that pays a middle-class salary.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-07-19

I wonder...

If Mitt has all that money in offshore accounts, does he include those in the 10% he gives to the lord?

Or does it only count as "income" if it can be taxed by the US government?

baleen - 2012-07-20

The Lord is the best offshore account in the universe.

Xenocide - 2012-07-19

Can you believe these lowborn reporters? Thinking they can ask things of Mitt Romney? They're not even CEO's!

Rudy - 2012-07-20

That reporter IS pretty swarthy-looking. Someone call Michelle Bachmann.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-07-20

Wish I had some more stars for "swarthy".

chumbucket - 2012-07-20

What do you mean "you people"?

snothouse - 2012-07-20

Black people.

SolRo - 2012-07-20

Peasants

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-07-20

People that aren't going to Hell.

kingofthenothing - 2012-07-20

I know some of you dorks will get those and don't act like you don't, because I know. I know.

Republicans are like Algus, from Final Fantasy Tactics.

Screwtape - 2012-07-20

Before seeing it I was simply thinking "you people" = "lowly workers" or "the media", but yeah after seeing who the interviewer was, definitely "black people".

jangbones - 2012-07-20

The Obama campaign keeps setting them up, and they keep falling for it, every damn time.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-07-20

The Democrats aren't even setting them up, which is probably why the attack is working. Rather the Romney campaign seems to keep making unprompted statements to the effect that there's something really bad in his tax history. Same with the Bain criticism, more damage came from their inconsistent excuses and whining that it was being discussed, than from outside attacks.

It's like they aren't even pretending there isn't a tax scandal in the records, they just feel entitled to ignore it, and resent people for not getting that.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-07-20

Dude, it's still open season, the Obama people have more dirt on this guy than we can possibly imagine. If this is the starting course the October Surprise is going to be Chernobyl.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-20

The problem is the GOPers won't care. Hell, those in office will likely try to pass bills making everything he's done legal, if not lauding it as being "smart" or "clever."

I still can't believe the "run America like a business" bullshit. Sure, the government is supposed to make a profit, everyone knows that. And we can look forward to him outsourcing every government employee until we can't get driver's licenses without e-mailing our vital stats to some place in China for processing.

Callamon - 2012-07-20

Also she used "you people" with a black woman.

The Mothership - 2012-07-20

for real.

gmol - 2012-07-20

I couldn't quite make out the "you"...there is something there..but it could just be a pause or a cut off word...

Am I the only one?

chairsforcheap - 2012-07-20

it's slightly quiet but she absolutely said it

cognitivedissonance - 2012-07-20

Just how easily the words, when slightly transposed, read "We've given all to people you know." It almost sounds charitable.

split tail - 2012-07-20

I heard, 'We've given all to you people you need to know.'

Stars for evil.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2012-07-20

As James Carville said, John McCain took one look at Mitt Romney's tax records and decided to go with Sarah Palin

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-07-20

"No I won't stop asking, you rich cunt."

memedumpster - 2012-07-20

I can't tell who political media is supposed to be for. Everyone had already decided on Mitt or Obama long before the election cycle (even the goddamned banks), and any swing voter knows that no matter who they vote for it's the lowest point of their lives.

Maybe the point is to get corporations to spend as much money as possible on useless media.

themilkshark - 2012-07-22

Voters are so filled with doubt that you can sway a huge portion with just a sentence or two. Fuck, most voters aren't even sure if they're going to show up to vote. I've had plenty of conversations about elections over the years where people mention that they didn't vote one time or another.

I can't imagine loads of people being excited to vote for Mitt Romney. He may convince some ignorant folks he's better than Obama, but he's also got to get them to go out of their way to fill out a ballot. These are the same people who ignore their kids in Walmart while they're tearing down a display made of Pepsi 12 packs.

Toenails - 2012-07-20

Initially, I was pretty disappointed when Romney started mopping up his primary opponents because I thought the train wreck would be over.

But holy crap, he's sooooo bad a campaigning that I wish he clenched the nomination sooner.

TeenerTot - 2012-07-20

We don't need to see his identification.
These aren't the droids we're looking for.

Nikon - 2012-07-20

Romney still hasn't released his birth certificate yet. Until he does, we can't be sure he was actually born in this country. Why won't he release his birth certificate? What might he be trying to hide? It really makes you wonder.

StanleyPain - 2012-07-20

She forgot to wear her pearl necklace and Victorian-era dress.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-07-20

Mormon ladies don't let you give them pearl necklaces.

The Mothership - 2015-07-19

zing.

Pillager - 2012-07-20

Damn, we've really lucked out that the wealthiest GOP candidate has zero charisma & a self inflicted campaign injury fetish to boot.

I hope the GOP remains this clueless in 2016.

Killer Joe - 2016-07-19

I am from 2016. Trump is the candidate. He's making Mitt look like a goddamn smooth operator. And he's polling well against Hillary.
Pray for us 2012. Your time will come soon.
The future is a horrible place.

Nominal - 2020-02-14

I am from 2020. Trump is the president. Holy fuck are we fucked.

I pray for 2022.

(we'll still be fucked)
