I think it's worth pointing out that these retards are basically the worst soldiers ever. One of the things that has been repeatedly hammered into our skulls ever since I went through OSUT in 2004 is, essentially, "Do not go near, let alone touch, anything that could be an IED".
I hope they take that shitbag's stripes away; he has no business leading a team on patrol. The cameraman is something of a clown too, because as soon as he sees Corporal Tardbasket playing with a (fairly obvious) IED, his first move is to wander over and check it out.

jangbones - 2012-07-31 Good point. When I first saw this, I was thinking "wow, that dude made a huge mistake" but in Afghanistan, this is way more than a mistake, this is the exact kind of inattentiveness and stupidity that gets you and other people killed.
