Straight male perspective, check! This show is fine but it could use more voices, because I just kept hearing the same response from mister fist pump there. Of course I agree with him but ya know.

takewithfood - 2012-08-22

I really hate the shit out of Cenk Uygur.

Hooker - 2012-08-22

I hate that Frat Boy seems to be a growing voice of American liberalism. He doesn't have the slightest trace of professionalism.

... and it integrate sound hot style work environment, and at the afghan women that changed is gonna have a double standard.

"Hot style work environment'. Thank you, YouTube transcription option, you're the only way to make Cenk tolerable.

While Cenk may be right that guys are more likely to be okay with inappropriate behavior in the office than women, it's also pretty much the same as how, for example, white folks are less likely to feel threatened by the term "cracker" than blacks are by the term "nigger". When you're a member of the race / gender that's in charge, you can withstand a little bit of mistreatment, maybe it becomes an anecdote to chuckle over with friends.

That guy - 2012-08-23

"the race / gender that's in charge"
You are a real picasso with that paint-roller.

But we can agree that Cenk is unbearable. I made it to 2:08 and I'd wager that he has no intellectual qualifications of any sort. That was some of the stupidest talking I've heard on a non-Fox show in a while.

"When you're a member of the race / gender that's in charge, you can withstand a little bit of mistreatment, maybe it becomes an anecdote to chuckle over with friends."

ah, always good to see a pro-sexual harassment comment from the position of someone who would dismiss it as a goof or deem it acceptable because it happened to someone who deserved it. market fresh ideas.

Bort - 2013-10-06

I'm not in favor of sexual harassment in either direction, you goofball. I'm saying that, if's a lower-grade incident (for example an inappropriate comment or possibly awkward touching), a man is more likely to laugh it off.

Much beyond that, though, and there's no difference -- a hostile work environment is a hostile work environment. And I certainly don't take Cenk's side that it'd be really cool to be sexually harassed by a hot boss.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-08-22

They don't know anything about the actual case, and so they're just speculating, and none of it means anything. Couldn't they have someone around who knows how to use Google, so we could have a few facts to throw around?

chairsforcheap - 2012-08-22

I'm sure ole Cenk here would call me a sissy homo bitch for taking this viewpoint, but my 60+ female boss discussing anal sex with a coworker probably ruined a good year of productivity for me...

Old_Zircon - 2012-08-23

A whole year? That's a lot of masturbation.

chumbucket - 2012-08-22

This is like overhearing some "discussion" between two people at a coffee shop line being way too loud to be sure everyone hears their point of view but are not really part of the discussion. Only succeeding in annoying everyone around them

StanleyPain - 2012-08-22

I love the forced OH MAN THIS IS SO FUNNY AND CRRRRAZZAAAHH thing that Cenk does to pretty much any story he can't get all Olbermann-rage over.

Blue - 2012-08-22

It always bothers me when people talk about workplace harassment like this. Workplace harassment is very rarely about jokes that offend or failed attempts at flirting. That's the harasser's description of what they did. It's typically a cover for outright hostility and intimidation.

takewithfood - 2012-08-22

Cenk's own defense even seems to be that, since no one has spoken up about the apparently hostile work environment that he's created at TYT, there must not be any problems!

Old_Zircon - 2012-08-23

Real world example: a friend of mine who's in his mid 40s and works in administration at an ivy league university was the victim of the worst workplace harassment anyone I know has experienced (not counting harassment from customers in retail positions, of course) a few years ago. Long story short, a woman who worked in a different department (and building), who met him briefly once or twice developed sme kind of obsession with him, sent him some emails that he deleted without responding and then, when that didn't work, filed a sexual harassment claim against him, which took close to a year to deal with and nearly got him fired.

Which is pretty much the exact opposite of what most people seem to imagine workplace harassment is.

memedumpster - 2012-08-23

"As a guy, if I had a really hot boss..."

She should have walked out at that point.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-08-23

I think her tolerance for that asshole is infinitely greater than ours. She has to see him both on and off the camera, and if they film him saying these things, imagine what he says when not being filmed.

Koda Maja - 2012-08-23

Good call, Cenk. As a man, there's nothing sweeter than the person who controls your professional and financial future pressuring you or manipulating you sexually. Doubly so if you happen to be married/in a committed relationship/gay.

I'm no pussy. Bring on the sexual power games in the workplace.

Crackersmack - 2012-08-23

Cenk can be oafish and over the top, but I like him and I think he means well. You guys are being mean.
