StanleyPain - 2012-08-29 In fairness, it's in the original YT title.

Boy, those people at the museum dedicated to teaching kids that the earth is a few thousand years old and that dinosaurs were pets of people who lived for thousands of years before the global flood drowned all species not on one big boat, will sure be embarrassed to learn something in their museum is factually inaccurate.

TeenerTot - 2012-08-29 I've heard the same "imperfection" story about laying tiles. In the old days (it is said), in a pattern of tiles the mason would intentionally get one wrong so his soul wouldn't get trapped or something.
Since I heard that, I did notice an off tile on my old bathroom floor.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-08-29 Which is funny, because the moral is supposed to be that man in imperfect compared to God, yet people deliberately make a mistake as if their normal efforts would result in perfection contrary to his will.
It's like saying "I'm playing against the greatest basketball player of all time, so I'd better miss some lay-ups on purpose so I don't make him look bad".
While I'm sure it's sincerely followed know, I'd bet anything that tradition arose from a contractor for a church who was much better at making up clever excuses than getting the job done perfect.

What percentage of the Creationism Museum's receipts are from people going there to mock it?
|
Sanest Man Alive - 2012-08-29 Not nearly enough, and certainly not loudly enough. The Emperor's been parading around buck naked for so long he's attracted a whole colony of willfully ignorant nudists. People who believe and endorse creationist bullshit should be mocked openly, everywhere they go.
|
dead_cat - 2012-08-29 It would attract more if it actually worked like a museum, and changed exhibits from time to time. But no, being built and existing is supposed to be enough.
That fucked up sign campaign they started recently wasn't just for summer vacation -- it's because they've expressed genuine concern over the marked difference between the projected and ACTUAL numbers of visitors.
