"Well, our budget for the week is eight teapots, which is of course the national currency of England. So how are we going to make this robot seem convincing?"

"We'll have him extend his vowels. Everyone knows robots extend their vowels."

"I am fairly certain no one knows that."

"Listen here, Lord Crumpetbottom, Grand Duke of the BBC. If you see a man walking down the street with what appears to be a microwave glued to his stomach and a foglight on his head, what would be your reaction?"

"I would judge him a sexual adventurist."

"Quite! But, if that man then walked up to you and said 'Paaaaaaaaardon meeeeeee, dooooooo yooooooooou haaaaaaave theeeee tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime?'"

"ROBOT! Egads, you're right!"

"Well, I AM Queen Elizabeth the Second, after all."

THIS HAS BEEN, "AUTHENTIC BRITISH TELEVISION WRITER'S ROOM SCENARIOS."

It's like you were there.

...You are important.

10 stars, but you really don't deserve them since you just cut and pasted the actual writing room transcripts (a little known fact: though the BBC regularly erased copies of early Who, they diligently transcribed all writing room conversations).

Ten minutes before school, the BBC informed its mom that it would need a robot costume for the play that day.

I saw this on a PBS station when it a working print had been discovered. By that time, I'd gotten used to the zero-budget effects and even had come to find them charming.

What really had me laughing my ass off was hearing the worst American accents ever attempted on TV. It was a great catharsis after hearing how we yanks can never manage to train our actors to properly sound like who they're trying to portray.

And a swath of fetishes was born.

StanleyPain - 2012-09-05

And yet, this episode is 10 times better than most of the new Dr. Who.

BHWW - 2012-09-05

If you mean it doesn't feel like you're watching a show where they shot an obsessive fan's gooey love-letter-to-the-series Dr Who fanfiction for a script, it is better than most of the new Who.

StanleyPain - 2012-09-05

Pretty much, yes.

You can at least believe these Cybermen are barely surviving humanoids forced to use technology on themselves.

Dude on Youtube hit the nail on the head: this is the love child of the Greendale Human Being and Kickpuncher.
