I hate Ryan plenty, but he had no way of knowing that the old man had been wrestled down.

themilkshark - 2012-09-08

That man is a hard working individual who paid into a government program designed to help him survive old age. Ryan is working to shorten his lifespan as well as future generations. Fuck Paul Ryan, he's the devil.

Old People - 2012-09-08

Sure, but this video is sensationalist garbage. As the good guys, we're supposed to be above this kind of bullshit. Lord knows the Republicans give us a steady enough stream of evil that we shouldn't have to go making shit up. What I'm trying to say is, don't be knee-jerk enough to 5-star something just because it savages our enemy.

takewithfood - 2012-09-08

The editing makes it pretty questionable, too. The lighting changes dramatically in the shot containing the actual "joke". It seems to be from a different camera/angle, but why?

Hodge - 2012-09-08

Old People nailed it with his sensationalist garbage comment.

That guy - 2012-09-08

I don't see how this is essentially "made up". -1 star for the editing and title on poetv, but this is probably basically accurate.

Maru - 2012-09-08

Old People is the exact same kind of dummy I accused doctorbuns of being. Before the man's outburst, and him being forcibly dragged out of the room by police, this piece of **** literally just got done saying "Most of our debt comes from entitlement programs."

The kind of smug, morally secure, asshole who sits back and critiques the editing of a video like this is beyond me, but I know this sanctimony is what keeps the democratic party in this country from assuming any kind of moral authority, and is very likely going to cost them this election.

Bort - 2012-09-08

Exactly, Maru. Never mind that the police brought the 71-year-old man to the ground out of Ryan's view (and quite possibly beyond his expectations of how they'd deal with the impertinent commoner), we have an oily politician trying to shaft people out of what is rightfully theirs, and after the police hustle the man out of the room, the politician makes a "ha ha, he's crazy" joke. Surely that's enough to see what Ryan is made of.

Hodge - 2012-09-09

I feel like risking my neck here so:

Maru, I highly suggest if you are one of those that is in denial that social security contributes a great deal to the federal deficit, that you start reading up more on the issue.

I also think you should reread old people's 2nd comment about NOT being knee-jerk over everything you are against.

Also please don't take the first thing I said as if I think that Paul Ryan's Social Security doesn't deserve the controversy its getting.

Bort - 2012-09-09

Hodge, we could arguably say that every single expenditure the government makes "contributes to the deficit". But it's not a deficit at all unless we are taking in less money than we spend ... so really, unless you talk about taxes in the same breath, you can't say "contributes to the deficit" at all in any meaningful sense.

So how does Social Security stack up? Social Security has racked up a net SURPLUS, that I grant you will get eaten away as Baby Boomers retire, but for now it is very much in the black. So Social Security is doing better than pretty much anything else.

The thing about Ryan's plans is, they are not even intended to collect enough taxes to pay for the government's current needs, much less paying down debt. So when Ryan suddenly gets this hyper-responsible streak strictly where Social Security, Medicare, and the like are concerned ... fuck him, fuck him hard.

misterbuns - 2012-09-10

people who use the word 'dummy' are great.

Maru - 2012-09-11

zing

Bort - 2012-09-08

If this happened in a movie, it would be in the script just to communicate to the audience who the bad guy is and why you should be glad when he finally gets his comeuppance.

themilkshark - 2012-09-08

However when it plays out in reality people assume that the only folks who shout angrily are crazy.

Deplorable - 2012-09-08

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Gmork - 2012-09-08

This is what the awful members of each of our families (that we hate or never visit) are exactly like.

Validation by triangulation. Getting one or more people to agree/laugh with you at something immediately makes them right forever, and everyone else dumb/crazy.

Outbursts immediately validate the position of the smug asshole. Predictable and vitriolic reactionary garbage. Podiums arent for debates or speeches anymore, theyre for defaming something or someone.

joelkazoo - 2012-09-08

Fuck Paul Ryan.

TheOtherCapnS - 2012-09-08

Fuck pigs who have zero compunctions about behaving like jack-booted thugs.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-09-08

I'm with TheOtherCapnS. Ryan is a turd, but the cops were the real assholes, here.

Their job is to defuse situations like this, not exacerbate them.

spikestoyiu - 2012-09-08

Holy shit, the cameraman can walk through walls!

NineEleven - 2012-09-08

Freelook : ON

Fezren - 2012-09-08

When will people learn that you can't just bust in places, start screaming out of turn, and resist detainment from security or police without there being consequences.

What sort of imaginary world does someone have to live in to think that bursting into a room looking extremely agitated and screaming where a public figure is a giving a speech is any sort of legitimate means to deliver a message? And then accuse the security removing him of being evil and trying to censor that message?

And that was a really offensive joke right. I hope he took his blood pressure medication? Right. Pure evil there. Get a fucking clue.

Hank Friendly - 2012-09-08

no man you don't get it they're REPUBLICANS

Gmork - 2012-09-08

I know you're both being sarcastic, but it really helps point out just why you don't understand how the reaction to a SEVENTY ONE YEAR OLD MAN WITH POLICE ONLY FEET AWAY was a bit overly dramatic. If he was a real politician he would have tried to calm the man down HIMSELF and have a dialogue with him.

Dialogues and compromises are not the GOP's MO. Bulldozing and defamation is. And now the GOP is so awful the democrats are emulating them simply to compete. Both parties disgust me but dont kid yourselves about Ryan not being a fucking dipshit coward for not exercising his obvious influence in the room.

Do you honestly think if he took the podium and said "Now, now, let him speak! He's obviously very passionate about the welfare of his country!" or some such drivel, it wouldnt have had a good chance of working? It doesnt take a genius to figure out Ryan is the dumbest script-handed politician since.. last week sometime probably (I cant keep track of every political failure out there, too many).

Ryan: Legitimate rape HURR.
(bad reaction:
Ryan: HEY FEDS DONT TAKE COLORADOS POT, RIGHT COLORADO? GO STATE LAWS! WOO!

How can anyone who sees his actions and actually considers them step by step come to any conclusion other than "Wow, what a jizz-guzzling cumdumpster of a human being. He actually insults my intelligence by pretending that changing the subject and supporting a largely democratic ideal would somehow fix his legitimate rape blunder." If you came to any other conclusion I don't wish to know you, you're probably a tedious idiot.

Pretending like an old man shouting and getting upset (while still making his point, a valid one) is hysterical and has to be dealt with PHYSICALLY before even TRYING to reason or calm him down shows your automatic dismissal of his opinion or existence as a person. He might as well be a mannequin with recorded slogans you disagree with - they just want his presence removed from the room because it obviously makes Ryan look bad. If you have any intelligence whatsoever, it makes Ryan look bad. I can't really make it any simpler for you, so if you're still confused you're probably SOL - some brains are wired wrong.

When people dont even bother to communicate, even to calm someone down, its indicative of the kind of the pervasive mentality that allows the most radical GOP members to be revered even by the middle-of-the-road conservatives, as if they were simply crusaders for some moral or social values instead of a transparent front for whiny rich idiots with absolutely zero abilite to predict how short term goals and selfish party ideals will negatively affect long term EVERYTHING.

That guy - 2012-09-08

Hey Fezren, instead of critiquing your post phrase by bullshit phrase like Gmork more or less did, may I suggest that you put on a strap-on and fuck your own face?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-08

You know what would make me laugh? Paul Ryan accidentally falling on someone's knife. And then accidentally falling on that same knife ten times.

Fezren - 2012-11-07

Hey, I'm not saying this guy doesn't have legitimate grievances. I'm not saying that Paul Ryan isn't an asshole. In fact, the worse that Paul Ryan is trying to fuck this guy over, the more valid my point is.

You can't just bust into a place and start screaming at a high profile politician. It doesn't matter how right you are, it's a potential threat and pretending like this guy being detained is some sort of censorship is bullshit.

dead_cat - 2012-09-09

Fuck Paul Ryan. I hope someone somewhere breaks into his computer and shares all the animal porn he keeps stashed there; this guy needs to slink back into the shadows, where he belongs.

FABIO - 2012-09-12

Never forget
