this is how the gang stalked see the world

It's amazing how much effort these people think would be put into doing Orwellian things to individuals who can't even hold down a job as a Wal-Mart greeter. Not to mention other than some vague "they want to CONTROL us," they don't appear to have any coherent idea as to what their imaginary villains want or get out of the whole mess.

I know, expecting any kind of rational explanation is unrealistic. I just find it funny that some James Bond baddie is going to make some kind of RFID system that will plunge us into the apocalypse, when the richest company on the planet can't keep its phones and other devices safe from hackers.

Every time I think to myself...self, Alex Jones can't possibly top his own crazy...I get POE links that prove me otherwise. Thanks, guys. I think.

Also, out of all the conspiracies he and Jesse Ventura espouse, the FEMA concentration camps is one of the most disturbing and irresponsible.

1:43 - I always knew that when Minneapolis finally invaded St Paul it would come via Falcon Heights. Right through the State Fairgrounds!

The Great Hippo - 2012-09-09

the thing that strikes me about this conspiracy-theory fan-fiction wankery is how a lot of these terrible images and ideas (the state turning against you) ALREADY happen, but people don't care because it happens to poor people, or brown people, or people who aren't 'American'. So to make it somehow relevant we have to show it happening to 'ordinary white middle-class people... LIKE YOU! D: D: D:'

Except it won't, because you need to use largely white middle-class people to *do* those things to white middle-class America. I mean check out Beardy McPeek-a-boo at :30. HEY, BEARDY. You realize that there's a camera in /YOUR/ home, too, right? In fact, there must be a camera right above your head with another Beardy McPeek-a-boo on the other side watching you RIGHT NOW. And you're totally okay with that?

I imagine Beardy McPeek-a-boo pulls a Flintstone shrug and says "It's a living".

They've got it in their heads that dystopia will arrive with a black leather boot kicking open their door and someone taking away their guns followed by either execution or surveillance from a group of sinister people.

They can't wrap their brains around the idea that those they idolize are already making their votes next to meaningless by either discouraging voting, making it more difficult, or swinging the majority (that's left) with huge media campaigns. They think there'll be a human face that personally hates them, the hero, behind whatever cameras will (or are) watching them when that's too expensive. It'll be (or is) a computer program that doesn't give a shit reporting to another computer that doesn't give a shit, whose purpose is not "I must control the HEROES and make them SHEEP," but "based on their behavior, what can I encourage them to buy?"

The whole killing people thing is wasteful. Those that don't want to play along will either cope or starve, no bullets needed.

I think the greatest horror these morons could face is that while there are subtle forces trying to manipulate them at work, it's from private companies, not government, and blowing shit up isn't it the cards because they're not worth the effort and the resulting cleanup.

Syd Midnight - 2012-09-11

Their greatest horror is your second paragraph, that's the mind-scalding unspeakable Lovecraftian death-truth that would drive them to suicide-by-cop rather than have to face.

They'll construct elaborate fantasies of mega-holocausts and apocalypses and the worst things they can imagine but they would never even JOKE about "what if we're just keeping ourselves occupied with paranoid fantasies so we don't have to face the mundane problems of real life that we can't do anything about without first admitting that we don't understand them, and by keeping each other distracted are actually are part of the problem?"

This is great marketing, you wont have to change a single thing about it to make it a left wing propaganda vid for the next Republican administration. This would have fit right in during the Bush Days.

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-09-09

Really? Were Democrats worried about FEMA concentration camps and a Mark-of-the-Beast-style implant during the Bush years?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-09

Nope. Katrina showed that Bush's FEMA (an agency that worked just fine until George II tried to shoehorn it into the DHS and every other stupid agency cross-talk bullshit he instigated) couldn't even attempt to take over a vacant lot without getting confused about which shoe went on which foot.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-09

And you know, the really irritating thing about this crap is I blame whoever researched the X-Files. I think they were the first mainstream broadcast program that wasn't a fringe rant on public access in front of an American flag to put forth the idea of FEMA rounding people up, except it was at the behest of an extraterrestrial conspiracy.

Then 24 came along and made things worse, it seems. Fox has a lot to answer for in just about every division it runs.

Rudy - 2012-09-10

Well setting up a vast surveillance network would create more jobs. You could watch somebody all day and then they could watch you all night. Economy saved!

big pincers - 2012-09-13

true story: yesterday I saw an old white pick-up with crazy bumper stickers such as "9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB" and also multiple INFOWARS stickers. On the bed of the pickup was a small wooden shed, for victims I presume. the guy driving it sure looked the part too
