Whoever paid M for this is fucking retarded.

Yeah.. That m guy Suuuucks

13.5 - 2012-09-12

NPR had something interesting earlier today about how the producer isn't really named Sam Bacille, which is apparently a made-up identity. Nobody has any idea who this producer is

They speculated he may also have been lying about spending five million dollars

Millard - 2012-09-12

Apparently everyone in the cast is saying that they were never told what the film's aims were, and that it was mostly edited to fit the viewpoint in post-production.

Spoonybard - 2012-09-12

Everyone's a critic

fedex - 2012-09-12

one could even say, over-critikill

Rudy - 2012-09-13

Okay you bastard the unknown father.

NancyDrewFan123 - 2012-09-12

Also of note: Apparently he lied to the entire cast and crew abotu what the movie was abut. The creator's even went so far as to have them use non-Islamic language and dub in Mohammed for "Master George" in post production.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-09-13

Just this little clip is shot through with obviously dubbed dialogue.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-09-12

Such a shitty film and yet this guy has blood on his hands. Imagine if someone who could actually make movies made a stupid hate filled anti-Muslim movie.

Ocyrus - 2012-09-12

Look up "Planet of the Arabs", we've been making overtly anti-Muslim movies for decades.

StanleyPain - 2012-09-12

Whether this real or fake, we need to stop with this bullshit that the people who made it "have blood on their hands." Fuck that shit. Fuck it.

The people who have blood on their hands are the adherents of the savage, ludicrious, ancient superstition who continually use their delusions to justify violence on people for exercising their rights to free speech. How many fucking authors and artists and speakers are going to have their lives destroyed before we stop with this craven, pussy-act of apologizing and kowtowing to the religious insanity of Islam for the fact that THEY themselves are the ones bringing the violence and darkness into these situations, not the idiots making stupid parodies. I don't know who made this movie or why or what the story is behind it, but fuck anyone who won't stand up for their right to make it and instead thinks we should be "more sensitive" to murderers who have proven for centuries their inability to act like sensible, rational human beings when confronted with anything that dares to intrude on their juvenile fantasy world of ignorance and fear.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2012-09-12

Kill yourself.

13.5 - 2012-09-12

Can't we dislike everyone involved?

I mean there were deaths after Terry Jones recent Koran burning, and its not like the idea of disapproval of Islam cant be expressed in a less inflammatory way. I wouldn't be surprised if a violent response were desired by our pseudonymous auteur

Not legally responsible, but doesn't make it right

TheSupafly - 2012-09-12

As long as nobody suggests we need to take away the right for people to do these things I am totally cool with hating the creators of this film.

Hooker - 2012-09-12

Assuming what I've heard about this movie is true, and everything I've heard about the movie I got from this poeTV page, the guy knowingly put the people in the production into a dangerous situation by lying to them. That's some blood for his hands.

Hooker - 2012-09-12

I see this caused an attack on the embassy in Egypt, so now, equipped with more information, I agree completely with StanleyPain. I thought one of the actors or something was killed or something.

Hooker - 2012-09-12

And as an aside, Mitt Romney has wasted no time condemning the attac... hahaha, no. Romney has wasted no time condemning the President for being sympathetic towards the attackers.

Riskbreaker - 2012-09-12

I'm with Stanley on this one. Whoever made this thing is an idiot, but if being an idiot is enough to wish, and justify, death upon someone then 98% of youtube videos wouldn't even exist.

poorwill - 2012-09-12

Guys, guys, can't we hate EVERYONE?

Crackersmack - 2012-09-12

I can't really blame this violence on the idiot that made this film, but I can hope that some hardcore jihad motherfuckers eventually catch him because fuck that shit.

Zoot42 - 2012-09-12

Wow such a hateful and vitriolic post. Have you ever met a Muslim in real life? The overwhelming majority of Muslims are incredibly nice, hard-working people who find comfort and community in their religion. That's like saying all Christians are savage murderers after that one Norwegian christian wacko shot a bunch of people.

Pillager - 2012-09-12

Stanley,

Certainly, the world would be a better place if we all understood & accepted that there is no hereafter or bearded sky wizard looking after us. That said, most people need the crutch that religion provides. Especially, the third world people who sell us oil. I'm quite happy to patronize them until their oil runs dry.

Also, Sean Smith, aka Vile Rat was killed due to this pointless, stupid trolling movie. I can only hope that "Sam Bacile" is sued/beaten/whatever for all he's worth.

Cena_mark - 2012-09-12

If Christians rioted and killed people over Life of Brian would John Cleese and Micheal Palin have "Blood on their hands?"
I know this looks like a stupid movie made to stir the pot, but still the blood is not on the film maker's hands. The blood is on the hands of the people who literally have blood on their hands.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-09-12

My comment above wasn't exclusive in the "blood on the hands" department. Obviously, the actual murderers do too.

That guy - 2012-09-12

Setting aside for a second whether this producer knowingly endangered his cast and crew without their knowledge, look at what it takes for radical Muslims to actually start killing people: newspaper cartoons, novels, and shit movies.

It is absolutely not the same as a one-off nutjob in Norway, or asshole bible-bashers like we have in the USA.
Meanwhile the hate that is systematically preached in government, school and mosque in some of those countries is off the motherfucking chain. For the West [or the world] to back down on a freedom of speech issue, especially when the Muslim cultures in question are viciously hypocritical about what they say or draw, is unacceptable.

If the percentage of Muslims who aren't "What'd you say about my prophet?!?" fundamentalists hit 99%, I'd be very happy for humanity. They could join all the other "just plain wrong" religious types all over the world, instead of being evilly wrong.

EvilHomer - 2012-09-12

Cena: yes, yes they would. Abortion clinic bombings and the indiscriminate crucifixation of anyone who happens to have a British accent are natural and perfectly understandable reactions to the Life of Brian.

I'm more concerned about TFLBill. We've been making fun of him for years; once the bodies start turning up, will that mean the blood is on OUR hands?

GQ - 2012-09-12

As an update to what it sounds like might have happened, the riot in Libya (which is where the deaths happened) likely was in fact an instigated distraction by Al Qaeda members in Libya, who used this controversy to start a riot to act as a distraction so they could fire an RPG at the people in the consulate. Which sounds a bit extra likely since generally rioters don't bring RPG's.
So if this pans out, the blood is on Al Qaeda's hands. But the makers and financers of this film are still bigoted pieces of shit.

memedumpster - 2012-09-13

Bigots made this movie, but no one should have died for it.

Once death becomes the answer to absolutely anything, the differences between the questions disappear and you're just left with the dead, who still have no answers.

Also, to be fair, if I talked about Islam like I do Christianity in as openly a Muslim place as I am in an openly Christian place, I'd be dead as shit by now. Fuck Islam, thanks for keeping Western Civilization through the Dark Ages, now fuck off. When it became trendy in the Middle East to destroy Sufi temples Islam officially ate shit and died, like Christianity did when Saint Francis died.

Raaar, Internets!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-09-13

I would agree with StanleyPain on principle, but IF THE INTENT WAS TO INCITE VIOLENCE, that changes some things, but it doesn't change everything. What he says about "the adherents of the savage, ludicrious, ancient superstition who continually use their delusions to justify violence on people for exercising their rights to free speech" is absolutely spot on. People who murder are murderers. If they were deliberately incited, that just makes them dupes.

It looks like the filmmakers were out to cause trouble. The use of dubbing indicates a will to hide the intent from the actors. I don't know where the law should come down on this, but if the intent was to incite violence, that's a "yelling fire in a crowded theater" situation. in that case, yes, the filmmakers do have blood on their hands.

One thing is certain: this movie is a loathsome piece of shit.

Gmork - 2012-09-13

There's blood everywhere. Get a mop.

Gmork - 2012-09-13

Agreeing with StanleyPain and Cena_mark on this one, which is peculiar.. But you must consider how dumb someone is to make a film knowing people like that will react in the same violent way practically every time. It's great to exercise free speech, but when there's radicals willing to explode and/or make others explode for their belief, how about just not make the fucking film in the first place? Cause and effect, just acknowledge that it's not fair about your free speech and all that, but if you slander their prophet (or even if their perceive that you've done so) they might blow your ass up, given half a chance. And don't lie to anyone involved about something that could get them potentially killed. Or am I just totally out of line?

Fairness is different from accepting reality and not struggling vainly against it putting yourself or others in danger, just because you personally don't believe it could really happen over "just a movie". Which is probably the rationale the directors all use to justify it to themselves before something bad happens.

Syd Midnight - 2012-09-14

The people who made the movie are also adherents of a savage, ludicrious, ancient superstition who continually use their delusions to justify violence on people for exercising their rights to free speech, but that's okay because

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-14

And the people that made this weren't juvenile?

Stars because I hate everyone.

bongoprophet - 2017-09-12

So Stan, have you learned to differentiate between fundamentalists and normal people yet? Met any muslims?

Binro the Heretic - 2012-09-12

"Sam Bacille" sounds somewhat like "imbecile".

That can't be accidental.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-09-12

Yep, my first thought too. "That can't be his real name!" and whammo. Guess it's not.

BHWW - 2012-09-12

The Whitest Muslims U Know

Void 71 - 2012-09-12

Yes, lets blame a shitty internet movie rather than the potent mixture of American imperialism and religious fanaticism.

13.5 - 2012-09-12

Can't go deep level every time

Then you're like my uncle. What caused [X]? Capitalism. True enough, but.

CornOnTheCabre - 2012-09-12

yes, if we thought critically about EVERY problem then we'd... i dunno, have a chance at understanding them?

dead_cat - 2012-09-13

If we addressed every problem by thinking critically, and tying to understand how and why it happened, we'd eventually get NEW problems to deal with. New Problems are SCARY.

The Mothership - 2012-09-13

Man, actors be desperate these days for work.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-09-13

Man, Black Ops, you used to be cool.

Jeriko-1 - 2012-09-13

Why do I have the oddest feeling that whoever is behind this rhymes with 'Roch Nothers'...

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-09-13

ACTING!

spikestoyiu - 2012-09-13

The ultimate troll job.

BHWW - 2012-09-13

In more recent devlopments there may not only not be a Sam Bacile, there may not actually be an "Innocence of Muslims" movie at all, that these clips may simply be repurposed and redubbed clips from some no-budget production...the whole thing is weird. Very fishy.

I also want to know if any journalists will be asking questions about why, say, terrorists attacked a consulate and executed an ambassador who, it seems, was operating in a chaotic environment with zero tactical/logistical support.

TeenerTot - 2012-09-13

Al-Qaeda planned the attack in advance (to commemorate 9-11). The timing of the movie release on youTube was an added bonus they could use to rile local support.

Syd Midnight - 2012-09-14

This is what happens when two sects of religious fundamentalists want to start a world holy war so they can occupy Israel, but disagree on whether God wants the jews to burn in Hell before or after the global apocalypse. Sometimes they're going to accidentally help each other out.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-09-13

That fucking preload.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-09-13

Seriously though the acting is so bad that I find it insulting.
