I prefer Romneymonium.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-25 I think Romnebola has a better ring to it!
Though it could be too virulent and catching to be an apt comparison. Still, bleeding from the eyes and ears is bleeding from the eyes and ears.
Old_Zircon - 2012-09-26 The first time I watched this I thought he was saying "Romney riot."

This is why he needs a Hare Krishna on the ticket.

STABFACE - 2012-09-25
What a podunk little campaign stop. This looks some Iowa straw-poll bullshit. How many weeks away is the election?
jangbones - 2012-09-25 Depends on your definition of "best"
I would have preferred if a rabid social conservative or blood-crazed warhawk had won the Republican nomination. Since the right wing media is unable to comprehend that they are not in the majority, their attempts to explain the loss would be hee-larious.
fatatty - 2012-09-25 Yeah, unfortunately a Romney loss will just prove to the crazies that he was too moderate, and that to win they need to go far right-wing extremist next time.
We can only hope they find the Reaganesque Hitler they always dreamed of.
IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-26 While true, the fact that Romney chose to tack hard to the right (possibly more than Santorum would have done since Romney is still struggling to win over the base) is already having consequences. Senate Republicans talked recently about revenue as part of deficit reduction basically because Romney's been making the 'lower taxes on the rich but not the poor' argument and is failing.
And everytime Romney discusses healthcare, it's a comedy of unforced errors. He took credit on Univision for Obamacare and his staff immediately put out a release calling it a catastrophe. He talked about keeping the mandate, but then retracted it by saying that ER's provide all the free healthcare people need. Because while other candidates could have criticized parts of the law, Romney can't say anything good without reminding people he passed the same basic law, and then he has to go to the extreme to convince conservatives he's on their side.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-26 Re: Romney tacking hard right.
You'd think he would've learned from what happened to Bob Dole. Dole was someone who often led consensus in the Senate, found common ground, etc.
Yeah, I know. I used the word "learned." Wishful thinking.
A pity that now most Republicans see the word "compromise" as "total loss and giving into Satan" as opposed to "giving and taking between opposing views of differing weight and constituencies until agreement is reached." It's one more way the tying of politics to religion (and sports, really) has made everything a binary choice in the eyes of the Republican base.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-25
It' s amazing and scary. I know some people are die-hard Republicans no matter who gets nominated, but they're tying themselves in knots defending this asshat. I think it's the only reason the Kenyan-Marxist-Anti gun-Islamofacist lies are cropping up again, since the GOP really has nothing to run on.
Kabbage - 2012-09-25 My old co-worker unironically tried condemning Obama's reaction to the embassy killing ("muslim aggression") by comparing it to Bush's reaction to 9/11.
IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-25 As opposed to Bush's reaction to the many embassy attacks during his term. Of course.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-26 Hey, those weren't terror attacks... according to the record keepers that Condi leaned on.

At first I thought he was chanting "Romney riot."
Binro the Heretic - 2012-09-26
Now the Republicans have their own John Kerry.
Stopheles - 2012-09-26 Except Kerry was the whistle-blower on both My Lai and the Iran-Contra deals (which is why the right wing hates him so much, though they're very reticent to admit it because, well, My Lai and Iran-Contra were both pretty fucking awful). Romney hasn't really done anything to justify working on a national scale.
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-09-26 Kerry made the mistake of being boring and not effectively fighting back against the Swiftboat types. He does provide a lot of delicious irony in that all the "rich guy out of touch" attacks leveled at him are geometrically more apt for Romney.
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-27 Every business decision he has ever made has "future dystopian fucking America up the ass with a thousand mile dildo while wearing magical underwear" written all over it.
