Hey, this made it out of the hopper!

I consider this a good example of how men and women, especially the very young ones, expect each other to make sense, and not be full of bullshit when a little bullshit is what the situation calls for. It's a little hypocritical for Catie to take "Charlie" to task for his face-saving fiction of "I'm just trying to be friendly" when she is coming up with an imaginary boyfriend. Likewise, the angry comments she got from the guys, presuming that she owes the guy the truth about why she won't go out with him. She doesn't.
.

Watching this gives me a new worst case scenario for approaching a woman: she makes a youtube video about the experience.

EvilHomer - 2012-10-14

So, Charles, did you at least get her number?

And of course it's going to make it out of the hopper! PUAs are a hot item right now, and besides- Catie. Even though lately it's been like watching Elvis get fat

FABIO - 2012-10-14

How dare guys pay attention to me! Now to make an attention grabbing video out of it!

That's pretty mild as far as come ons go. How old is this woman that this fact of life is a shock to her?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

Really? We finally get a female perspective on this, and she actually does say something substantial about the mechanics of this encounter, and this is how you guys respond?

Of course it is. I'm not really interested in defending her, but she's not one who needs it right now.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

(Didn't mean to post that under here.)

FABIO - 2012-10-14

The only perspective I see is a (intentionally?) myopic woman. Two strangers both tell a white lie and part ways.

One of them probably forgot all about it 5 minutes later. The other went and made a youtube video decrying it.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

>>The only perspective I see is a (intentionally?) myopic woman.

Kids say the darndest things.

Blue - 2012-10-14

It's a freaking dumb lie to pretend you weren't just hitting on someone you were clearly just hitting on. It's hostile and unnecessary. "I didn't know you had a boyfriend" works just as well and doesn't make you sound like a butthurt douchbag that doesn't take kindly to no.

One of them probably forgot all about it 5 minutes later? Hey, moron, what the fuck makes you think you have the authority to speak on this matter? You clearly haven't been hit on by a stranger like this. I've had to take the bus to the police station to get these fuckers to stop following me. I always say no to solicitations like this even when I find the person attractive. I'd have to see them respond respectfully to "no" before I'd even consider it. So far only one person has passed that test. I said yes, once. He just started saying offensive, degrading things. There's guys out there that really don't like women, and shit like this is how they express that.

Oh, and she made a Youtube video and posted it on the Internet. This is true of every single video on this site. If you really had a problem with such "grabs for attention" you wouldn't be here. Giving her a little attention would be a good idea, since you clearly haven't gotten any of your understanding of these interactions from women themselves.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

>>It's a freaking dumb lie to pretend you weren't just hitting on someone you were clearly just hitting on. It's hostile and unnecessary. "I didn't know you had a boyfriend" works just as well and doesn't make you sound like a butthurt douchbag that doesn't take kindly to no.

Yes, I think you're right.

FABIO - 2012-10-14

Wow, someone crazier than JHM. Nice gangstalking account, but what really makes you shine is your post farther down projecting on the guys as being the angry ones.

They both went with a response that was slightly more blunt/dishonest than a simple "Sorry, have a nice day" or "No thank you" but was still no big deal that remotely well adjusted adults brush off. "I'm just trying to be friendly" is no more hurtful or hateful than blurting out "I have a boyfriend". That's it.

Somehow in your head it's more likely that the guy went on to commit bus rape than simply forgetting about it. Meanwhile there's a 3 minute social outrage video rant about a harmless come on.

"Every video on youtube was posted by someone SO THERE" has just won the award for dumbest comment on poetv.

Sudan no1 - 2012-10-14

FABIO, stick to talking about video games.

At the very least, PLEASE spare us your thoughts on gender relations, it's proven that you're a misogynist*, you should not be giving anyone advice, enough young men are led to the TFL lifestyle by asstrolls already.

* http://poetv.com/video.php?vid=100943
"This zombie anime sums up female friendships" OH YES, because anime is the most knowledgeable source for information about human interactions. looool

Blue - 2012-10-15

The guy that followed me got off the train and got on the same train going the opposite direction TWICE. It wasn't until I got off at a stop with uniformed police officers that he stopped following me. I've had people straight up grill me about where I lived and worked.

Sorry, have a nice day? I said yes and instead of negotiating some casual sex the gentlemen responded with an angry tirade. Tell me if this sounds angry: "Fuck you, you fucking cunt." That guy wasn't hitting on me. That guy was angry, and while there are other guys that aren't so angry (and will say yes to sex), it's still there. There are guys that aren't angry, and while they usually don't hit on strangers, sometimes they do. I've gotten that sometimes as well.

It's odd that you wouldn't believe me. I remember all my opinions about women's experiences and intentions used to go unchallenged. I remember being entitled to attention; I was never accused of seeking it. I could straight up tell women how things that happened when I wasn't there REALLY went down, and guys (who also weren't there) would back me up on that.

What happened? Oh, that's right. I transitioned. If it helps, I still have a dick, so bro! Bro this shit is totally real. Women totally get harassed and catcalled on the street and it's not a bunch of nice guys just trying to politely ask a girl out for coffee or a blowjob.

Adham Nu'man - 2012-10-16

Blue, I honestly don't understand a word you wrote.

Bort - 2013-04-15

Also confused about what Blue is saying in most recent post. But I'm on board with what Blue is saying in previous posts: if you are hitting on someone, do take "no" for an answer and be gracious about it. Meta-messages are real things, and the "I'm just trying to be friendly" followup carries one of two possible meta-messages: either you believe yourself to be one of the Monkees, or you're challenging the "no". Not good, either way.

If you want to leave the door open despite the "no", it should oughtta be presented in zero pressure form. Nothing more pressureful than, "I hang out at [your favorite dingy coffee house] a lot; pull up a chair sometime if you like, we can play cards or something". The meta-message on that is "I respect the 'no' but I still think you're pretty cool". There are worse things to meta-say to a person.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-10-14

"I don't think very many things warrant a VLOG - Because quite frankly they hurt my soul"
Amen sister.

I didn't know this woman was still alive. At least she appears to be cranking out more coherent crap now.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-10-14

Mentally, yeah, she's perpetually in a prison of the 'young girl talking about herself' genre.

But is she even young any more? She's got to be like 30 by now

Konversekid - 2012-10-15

She's only 30 in internet years.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-18

She's 20.

The interesting thing is, while the 4 chan shitsorm is fading away, on youtube her videos are slowly getting more popular all the time.

Void 71 - 2012-10-14

When shallow and superficial strangers collide.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2012-10-14

She's a young girl... Talking about herself

themilkshark - 2012-10-14

Good skit

chumbucket - 2012-10-14

EvilHomer - 2012-10-14

Five for RedneckWiggerBoxxy rubbing her crotch. Still classy!

The Mothership - 2012-10-14

Wait, so is this boxxy or is this a boxxy doppelganger?

Old_Zircon - 2012-10-14

I didn't figure out why she seemed familiar until I saw the related videos.

Apparently she has embraced her internet fame.

http://www.catiewayne.com/

Hooker - 2012-10-14

It's Boxxy. John Holmes Motherfucker is very, very creepy about her (and any other 25-and-how-low-can-you-go woman that he thinks gets unfairly disliked by people on the Internet), but he's old and desperate enough that, instead of trying to hide his problems and creepy obsessions like a normal person, he's started leaning into the punch, thinking that if he embraces his fucked-up-ness, it empowers him.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

And Hooker follows me around like a yappy little schnauzer.

What the fuck are you talking about? Define "creepy". For that matter, define "empowered". What I am attempting to gain here? What is my endgame?

I'm a huge fan of Catie. Nobody here really seems to know the full story, you really have to dig to piece it out, but Boxxy is internet psycho-politics in its purest form. The newfags in /b/ made Boxxy their Queen because a true queen is a living emblem of civilization, and Boxxy came to represent the dream that the online communities will be free of Tough Guy oppression. But Catie never signed up to be anybody's queen. The original Boxxy videos were intended as gifts for her friends, and no one noticed them for a year. Without her consent, she was used as a weapon, and in no time, she became a target. What came out of that was unprecedented, a huge wave of organized stalking that continued even after she had been driven into hiding. They hunted her down by coming through a thousand youtube videos. They organized trips to her house. They photoshopped her face onto bukkake porn.

But the REALLY amazing thing is that she got tired of being a victim, got herself a website, became a youtube partner, and faced down all the crazies, and all the criticism from her "fans". She forgave her hackers and faced down her crazy haters. And she won. Her youtube accounts must be bringing her some income, and though she's in college now, she's getting some indie acting work.

She's my hero. Yeah, I know, that's kind of unseemly.

I "lean into the punch" because if a five foot three inch girl can face down 4chan, I'd have to be the biggest pussy who ever lived to be afraid of YOU faggots! You could all quit your jobs and devote your lives to harassing me, and it would be percentage point of what Catie has endured.

Old_Zircon - 2012-10-14

Have some stars you crazy kids.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-10-14

I didn't understand the accusation that JHM had some weird creepy thing going on until he himself confirmed it in that last rant. Get a grip, man.

memedumpster - 2012-10-14

This is Boxxy!? I had no idea.

Don't be so mean to JHM, we all have fascinations and they're pretty much decided at the time at random, seemingly. For instance, I have become suddenly fascinated lately with watching the Cowboys lose and, like Boxxy, they deliver on what they do best. I had no idea I had this fascination until I saw it, so beware. A kitten riding a naked woman on a hippo video may one day cross your eyes and shove you down a long, embarrassing, path to fulfillment.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

It's the birth of the internet. It's the major cultural shift of our lifetimes, and it's only beginning. People keep comparing it to the invention of movable type, which started he renaissance, and 200 years of revolution. Forgive me, but I find it very interesting.

I looked up "creepy"

creep·y (krp)
adj. creep·i·er, creep·i·est Informal
1. Of or producing a sensation of uneasiness or fear, as of things crawling on one's skin: a creepy feeling; a creepy story.
2. Annoyingly unpleasant; repulsive: the creepy kids next door.

It looks to me like an aesthetic judgement, something I have no control over, so I'm not going to argue the point. If you think I'm creepy, that means I am. I can't win.

Hooker - 2012-10-14

How self-centered do you have to be that thinking someone who posts on the same website as you do and has noticed something awful about you is "following me around"?

Macho Nacho - 2012-10-14

Calm down JHM you crazy /b/-tard is showing.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

Sorry. It would be more accurate to say that you just pop up out of nowhere, like a yappy little schnauzer. Seriously, do I ever talk about YOU? You think I'm "terrible." I think you're... how does that go?

2. Annoyingly unpleasant; repulsive: the creepy kids next door.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

If I was a b-tard, would I be talking about /b/?

Macho Nacho - 2012-10-14

You mentioned /b/ and 4chan in your previous post and went on a rant about how Boxxy was /b/'s queen and how they ruined her. You're just giving off "puritan /b/-tard" vibes."

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

Only if "puritain btard" is someone who knows more about the subject than you, and that would be everyone. Puritain btards don't mention /b/. That's rule number 1.

I discovered Boxxy when I hit the RANDOM button on this site, and saw her video, and then, because I had seen it, youtube suggested the KNOW YOUR MEME video about Boxxy, which I submitted to the hopper. The video was voted up faster than anything I'd ever submitted. It took about an hour, and then there came an immediate shitstorm in the comments. The violence of the reaction was the thing that got me interested.

At the time, I had never heard of /b/. I fucking hate it. It's a goddamn cesspool.

Hooker - 2012-10-14

Ha ha ha. So, apparently, JHM has a(t least one) sockpuppet account here, called Glenn and Glennda. The submission he referenced is this one, where he has a STRANGELY FAMILIAR STYLE OF MELTDOWN: http://poetv.com/video.php?vid=72359

Hilarious. Who else could JHM be on here? Could he be andru_strange? Could he be Billy Buttsex? COULD HE BE ROACHBUD?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

>>Ha ha ha.

I love the sound of children's laughter!

>>So, apparently, JHM has a(t least one) sockpuppet account here, called Glenn and Glennda. The submission he referenced is this one, where he has a STRANGELY FAMILIAR STYLE OF MELTDOWN: http://poetv.com/video.php?vid=72359

I've always thought of myself as a "meltdown stylist".

It wasn't exactly a sockpuppet account. I tried to change, then I forgot the password or something. I've always been ambivalent about the JHM username. I haven't used Glenn or Glennda in January 2010, but if I'd kept it up, someone would have smelled me out. Someone always does.

This might be a good time to get a new username. I'm getting rid of my home internet connection, which means I'll be doing more lurking. It would be nice if I had the sense to just shut the fuck up. If I don't, you'll know me .

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

Grandmaster Funk - 2012-10-14

You know, that seemed like exactly the right amount of breathless explaining until that last typo correct, which kinda mystifies me.

mashedtater - 2012-10-14

Jesus christ this video was way too blase to provoke that response JHM, i think you are alright just chill out!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

I don't know what you mean. It was the amount of explaining required to explain? I was breathing the whole time I typed it. The correction was because it seemed like that particular typo might be especially baffling.

Just how angry do you think I am? Does anyone who's been here for a while really think that I submitted this video without expecting to have this conversation? Does anyone who comes here regularly really think that Hooker's attack took me by surprise? Hooker ALWAYS does this. It's as predictable as gravity.

The video is relevant, and I was ready for a much more elevated conversation, so I'm not trolling.

I am John Holmes Motherfucker

You see.

EvilHomer - 2012-10-14

Oh God.

JHM, you're not Moulton, are you?

Hooker - 2012-10-15

So, let's see:

1) So-and-so is so predictable.
2) Does anyone really think I'm angry?
3) So-and-so is stalking me.

How long until we get "I'm actually joking about being sexually attracted to children"?

Riskbreaker - 2012-10-15

Mr JHM all i can tell you is: you need to go out more often. Just saying.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-15

Clearly, we ALL need to get out more.

1. Hooker is not really stalking me. He/she is just an annoying little know-it-all who probably acts like that with other people was as well.

2. People keep telling me I need to calm down, but I feel pretty calm. You don't have to believe me, but why would I bother to lie? If I was mad, I'd have a reason for being mad, and I wouldn't hesitate to share it.

3. I'm not joking about being sexually attracted to children. I'm not talking about being sexually attracted to anyone in any way. Catie's attractive, but I can't fantasize about someone I can't imagine having an intimate conversation with, and I can't imagine having an intimate conversation with someone who is that age.

I've said that I'm obsessed with her, but that's as a hero, muse, and icon. Like thousands, I enjoy making videos from her videos. Her face is infinitely evocative. Take your average Boxxy video, break it down into its component frames, and you'll see a couple thousand discreet portraits.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-18

You got that it was a typo correct, swo that's about it. Not a lot of subtext there.

Eroticus E - 2012-10-14

This entire thread is a mystery to me. Is there some sort of Cliff Notes version I can consult?

EvilHomer - 2012-10-14

On which part? The Boxxy thing, or the John Holmes "I'm defending her honor only not really you guys" thing?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

I'm defending my own honor. Only not really.

Rafiki - 2012-10-14

So some random guy asked her out, she turned him down, and then he clumsily backed out of the conversation and told her to have a good day. And this registered as so upsetting she had to go against her own loathing of vlogs and make one about it?

This chick is, and I hate this word, EPICALLY boring. This is what happens when boring people wish they were more interesting.

Up next: the trials and tribulations of the time she tried to tear the cover off of a jar of peanut butter and the tab ripped off before any of the cover did so she had to poke it with a knife and use her fingers. In her skit she'll drop 40lbs to look really emaciated to underscore what dire straits she was in by not being able to make a sandwich right away.

Blue - 2012-10-14

This kind of interaction can be very upsetting. A lot of these MRA/PUA types are straight up bigots toward women. These propositions usually have a really angry undercurrent to them. I'm kind of a slut, so one time I actually said yes. His response was nothing but profanity and some really obscene slut shaming. Even the people that are sincere in their propositions usually make it clear they don't like women when they say no.

She doesn't actually say that it was upsetting, though. She said it was notable because it was a first for her. It's odd that you would think that she did.

It's almost like you assumed she was complaining about how upsetting it was because you DO know how upsetting these experiences could be, and you assumed that's what she was saying and you were trying to minimize it.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-14

Rafiki is one of those guys who thinks "serious" = "interesting".

>>Up next: the trials and tribulations of the time she tried to tear the cover off of a jar of peanut butter and the tab ripped off before any of the cover did so she had to poke it with a knife and use her fingers. Koda Maja - 2012-10-14

Why is it the person with the least serious post on this video is the dick that caused this shit to start in the first place?

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2012-10-14

Bullshit. Arguing on the internet is what makes the internet so much FUN!

Portal of Nah, It's All Good, No Drama Here yawn.

CJH - 2012-10-15

i bet at the end of the day John Holmes Motherfucker looks over these comments and says "yeah, I handled myself pretty well right there"

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-15

Yes, except that I feel a little guilty. On some level, I provoked the whole thing for my amusement. On the other hand, getting a Catie video onto POETV without provoking a shitstorm seems like a wasted opportunity.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-10-14

Two years later, and yes. I enjoyed reading these.

Redford - 2012-10-15

I voted it out because the parts where she dressed like a guy and pretended to be the PUA amused me. Greatly.

Uh oh...a woman expressed opinions about something to do with gender relations. Time for epic retard shitstorm.

Anaxagoras - 2012-10-15

hurrr hurrr.... Stupid chicks......

Udderdude - 2012-10-15

Boxxy is actually pretty damn boring.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-15

It's a legitimate point of view. Trust me, there's a whole lot going on there that you're missing, but it's a great big world, I can't tell you what's worth your time.

I think football is boring, but if I took a closer look, I'm sure I'd see what's interesting about it. The thing is, I can't imagine why football fans should really care if I think football is boring. They have their reasons for liking it, and their reasons satisfy them.

Adham Nu'man - 2012-10-15
