I suppose it takes a real dick to say that.

Five stars because I can't rate any higher for the evil.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-24

From this tea-party douchewipe's "apology:

"I believe God controls the universe," Mourdoch told reporters, who asked if he thought pregnancies resulting from rape were God's plan. "I don't believe biology works in an uncontrolled fashion."

Hey, asshole. You just said your God orchestrates all the rapes. And you just showed how little you understand about biology.
More? Why not?

“I spoke from my heart. And speaking from my heart, speaking from the deepest level of my faith, I would not apologize. I would be less than faithful if I said anything other than life is precious; I believe it’s a gift from god,” Mourdock said.

So does that mean every rape is just God giving his gifts? Oh, and you spoke from your heart? Glad to see it's the flinty, evil, ignorant wasteland everyone pretty much figured it was. You spoke what you truly believe, and what you believe is sick and wrong.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-10-24

I don't see how someone could believe in an all-controlling god who is responsible for EVERYTHING and still love and praise him. If you believe that evil is a direct product of god's will, why would you follow him and not something a lot more nice and benign that isn't toying with you?

il fiore bel - 2012-10-24

How does one speak from a part of the body they do not possess?

That guy - 2012-10-25

Theodicy, anyone?

Rudy - 2012-10-25

"I believe God controls the universe"

It's mind-blowing to me that someone can say this in 2012 and still be a viable candidate for anything besides involuntary commitment.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-10-24

Rape pregnancy is a beautiful gift from god, ladies. Think about it. You thought you were being raped out of violence, control, abuse, lust... no! It was the heavenly father all along, guiding that man to attack you and give you that beautiful little rape baby. He works in mysterious ways... DON'T QUESTION IT.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-24

Once again, God is in His Heaven, facepalming.

This guy needs some battery acid in the face as a gift from Shiva.

Nikon - 2012-10-25

Or a facehugger.

takewithfood - 2012-10-24

And yet he's still more electable than an atheist.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-10-24

Mourdock is a name more fitting of a Marvel Comics villain.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-10-24

But he's actually an Archie Comics villain.

Meerkat - 2012-10-24

He raped Veronica and Betty but their bodies had ways of shutting that process down.

Nikon - 2012-10-25

If he is a Marvel Comics villain, we need a hero with style, wit, technique, and wisdom to take him down.

I nominate Howard the Duck.

Forbush Man

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-10-24

My immediate reaction to this was a well thought out, calm, patient, logical response and goes as follows:

FUCK YOU YOU MOTHERFUCKING CUNT I HOPE YOU GET JUMPED BY A GANG OF THUGS THAT RAPES YOU WITH A BASEBALL BAT AND THEN A PORCUPINE! FUCK YOU SO HARD. FUCK YOU FOREVER. FUCK YOUR GAPING USELESS MAW. FUCK YOU INTO INFINITE LIFETIMES. FOR ALL OF TIME I HOPE YOU ARE RAPED. I HOPE YOUR SOUL IS RAPED FOR ALL OF TIME, IN SPACE BY CTHULHU'S SPAWN AND IMPREGNATING YOU WITH SPACE MONSTERS THAT SHOOT OUT OF YOUR ASS AND YOUR ONLY THOUGHTS WILL BE PLEASE GOD LET ME GET AN ABORTION FROM THE HIDEOUS DEMON MONSTROSITIES WRIGGLING AND BURSTING FREE FROM MY EVER BLOODY ASS.

StanleyPain - 2012-10-25

Actually, I don't really get very upset over this anymore, because I love that these people feel so threatened that now evangelicals and fundies are basically being so open with their insane belief system. It's pretty much all the ammo anyone would ever need to keep discrediting them and adding fuel to the argument that "respecting" people's faith and religious beliefs is a stupid, losing battle and that you have to, at some point, start calling people out on their totally unreasonable bullshit.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-10-25

It'd be nice if that happened, but since voting Republican has been equated with voting for Jesus, the party faithful are still voting for their god-bothering zealots in droves.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-01-21

Respecting other people's religious beliefs is important, but it ends when someone's religious beliefs become their politics. Then it becomes fair game.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-10-24

So, if everything happens according to God's plan, would that mean someone tying you naked to a rusty bed frame in an abandoned warehouse and introducing a hungry rat to your scrotum is doing so according to the lord's design?

Xenocide - 2012-10-25

The most celebrated event in the Christian canon involves a man being brutally tortured, then impaled through the hands and feet and hoisted unto a piece of wood to die slowly in front of hundreds of people.

Just saying.

Gallez - 2012-10-25

Yes, if it results in a pregnancy.
Seriously, the people who believe this sort of thing believe that free will exist, thus personal responsibility, BUT each fused sperm and egg cell is lovingly handcrafted by God (Even the IVF ones).

Yes, they say they believe that God has some vague plan for each person and controls everything, but it is filled with only good, positive things. But also that all bad choices and crimes are Satan/your own stupid sinner problem.

I'm not saying that it doesn't fall apart if you think about it, I'm just saying he doesn't think about it.

spikestoyiu - 2012-10-24

I hope God isn't my secret Santa this year, because that guy gives the worst gifts.

Screwtape - 2012-10-24

THIS IS WHAT CHRISTIANS ACTUALLY BELIEVE

Actually, they do.

poorwill - 2012-10-25

You're wrong. Some believe something *completely different* that has trivially different implications for the moral character of God. How dare you sir.

That guy - 2012-10-25

There is no doubt that some Chirstians believe otherwise, even if that makes their theological beliefs more problematic in other ways.

It wouldn't be fair to let this type of over-generalization slide even on a site where we're probably mostly left-of-center atheists, myself included. Not every strain of modern American Christianity comes from motherfucking Calvinism.

The Mothership - 2012-10-25

Anybody who claims that their faith all figured out and think they know what God intends is not to be trusted.

Maru - 2012-10-25

Can't you tell what God intends by what happens? I don't know why people are getting so hysterical about this. This is literally what everyone who believes in God believes.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-10-25

Why bother running a candidate against Obama, he's God's will, right?

Blue - 2012-10-25

Why is it that when it's something horrible, it's God's plan, but when it's something good, Satan's involved?

OxygenThief - 2012-10-25

I think at this point the GOP are just acting out episodes of Jiz and the Mammograms.

memedumpster - 2012-10-25

If God doesn't want the church burned down, he shuts down the fire, so all successfully burnt churches are God's Will.
