Say what you will about the McCoy era, at least it didn't give me douche chills every time I tried to watch an episode unlike any part of the New Who. I tried again earlier this year to check into the Matt Smith era and fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, ran headlong into the awfulness that is that frizzy-haired bint who's supposed to be the Doctor's wife or something, possibly the most obnoxious character Dr. Who has ever had, made worse by, from what I've gathered, the creators' intent and shoving her in the viewers' faces and demanding they find her fun and interesting.

I mean compared to that, even clunkers like The Greatest Show in the Galaxy and a companion like Mel are cool breezes.
