My childhood right here, folks.

baleen - 2012-11-12

Yeah. Probably not the only one who felt old from the submission's description.

Pillager - 2012-11-11

Moose was hot.

Doomstein - 2012-11-11

Holy shit, it just hit me that she's 49 years old now.

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-11

There's a cast reunion video from a few years ago on here someplace.

She's still hot.

takewithfood - 2012-11-11

I was too young to appreciate it at the time, but damn.

chumbucket - 2012-11-11

It was all about Moose for me.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-11

Moose, yeah. I wasn't old enough to appreciate Moose on that level, at least not consciously, but she's the one cast member whose name and face I can vividly recall.

Pouring buckets of slime on Moose's face was the 80s version of SFW Fetish Week.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-11

P.S. I love it when the Hive Mind pulls together like this. Did all of us have the same reaction when Zircon commented on that Solid Gold video? "Oh crap, yeah, You Can't Do That On Television! Oh crap, yeah, Moose!"

OZ this might help :

Homer - I also shared Zircon's reaction to Solid Gold. We can probably pile on Erin Gray on the Buck Rogers 1980 series.

Hugo Gorilla - 2012-11-11

"Moose" isn't played by Alanis Morrisette. Alanis didn't get on the show until the last season and she' much younger. Back when "Ironic" and "You Ought to Know" where hits and getting heavy airplay, every DJ had to preface every song saying she played Moose. She's not Moose!

Doomstein - 2012-11-11

Yeah, I don't get the confusion. They all used their real names on the show.

Doomstein - 2012-11-11

Alanis.

Old_Zircon - 2012-11-11

They also don't look even vaguely similar and are probably close to 10 years apart in age.

Rudy - 2012-11-12

Alanis was my first crush. Then she went on to make angsty music and fuck up the definition of irony for generations. There's a word for that but I can't quite place it.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-11-11

One of the last sites I remember seeing submitted to PoE's main page before it died was a pre-kickstarter website for a fundraiser to produce an anime remake/reboot/spinoff of this show.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-11

I think I remember that one, too. Did it ever go anywhere?

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-11-11

I remember that, too.

FABIO - 2012-11-11

This was the show that blew every kid's mind when their parents/friend first got cable in the 80s. It's hard to realize how groundbreaking this was at the time for kid's programming back then. Imagine years of nothing outside of early morning cartoons and educational shows then having THIS come along.

Doomstein - 2012-11-11

I remember watching Ulysses 31, then switching over to YCDTOT.

Then I'd run outside with no shoes on in a foot in a half of snow and run across a big baseball field across from my house to go play on the playground a block and a half away.

Then I'd run back home because my feet were cold, and I'd put on some tube socks (the kind with the two fat stripes at the tops) and put my feet really close to the fireplace so I could feel my feet again. Unfortunately one time I managed to catch my socks on fire because my feet were numb and I couldn't feel the heat.

That was tough to explain to mom on laundry day...

boner - 2012-11-12

"Good news, Dad, I just got voted the least popular kid in school". This show is relatable.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-12

Of course. It had to be the episode where they cooked Big Bird.
