Poor not-spotlight-having rich guy. I very nearly almost sort of feel bad for him.

chumbucket - 2012-11-15

Let's turn to our Fox News consultant Mitt for an editorial.

Only rich people deserve big gifts.

joelkazoo - 2012-11-15

Only rich *white* people deserve big gifts.

Aernaroth2 - 2012-11-15

Only rich white *dudes* deserve big gifts.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-11-15

Only rich white *straight Christian* (for a given value) dudes deserve big gifts.

hughmanatee - 2012-11-16

Only *hughmanatee* deserves great gifts.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-11-15

What a swell guy!

Toenails - 2012-11-15

So, the biggest gift to Obama's reelection is complaining about all the gifts Obama got in his reelection.

Romney, blame thyself.

Hooker - 2012-11-15

Turns out you can win an election by promising to do things that help a majority of the population (or, at least, by running against a guy that promises to hurt most of the electorate).

I think the next threshold for American conservatives is just straight-out lying about every single thing, across the board, that they intend to do after being elected. And I'm not talking the old promise to reduce government spending but oops I have a bunch of wars I want to finance. I mean a sorched Earth policy of knowing lies.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-11-15

I thought the election would allow time for some right wing introspection but I think you're right; they're just going to double down on the crazy.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-16

It's what they do when they lose. It's also what they do when they win.

Blue - 2012-11-15

Yeah, it's the non-millionaires that are getting all the government handouts.

Billy the Poet - 2012-11-15

It's the poor people, Pa! The poor people took all the money!

RockBolt - 2012-11-15

Tax deductions on your dressage horse are completely different than getting food stamps when you can't afford to eat

takewithfood - 2012-11-15

How dare Obama win votes by improving the lives of Americans? Typical Chicago-style politics!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-11-15

The bubble of delusion today's Republican lives in rivals that generated around Soviet leaders during the Cold War.

James Woods - 2012-11-15

I wish he'd shoot his mouth off.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-11-15

I'd imagine "spending time with his family" means he stomps around the house scowling and muttering darkly under his breath while everyone walks on eggshells and tries to stay out of his way.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2012-11-15

I like how the basic republican consensus on why Romney lost seems to be "FUCKING MINORITIES!"

That guy - 2012-11-20

"EDUCATED YOUNG PEOPLE!! WOMEN WHO ENJOY SEX!!"

Pillager - 2012-11-15

Yes GOP, keeping paying attention to the loser who led you to defeat. His advice has served you so well.

Also, I like how Bobby Jindal chastised him.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/15/1161904/-Bobby-Jindal -takes-on-Mitt-Romney

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-11-16

Too little too late. Jindal signed loads of crazy right-wing laws (creationism in science class? Jindal gives it a thumbs up!), so even if he is sincere, he was part of the loony-bin-bandwagon with the rest of them.

I heard a news report about that governor's conference. One gov said that the GOP was losing young voters because they were jobless and living at home which they thought was A GOOD THING BECAUSE THEY'RE LAZY. Then a lot of attendees maintained that the message of the party (kick out all brown people, the rich pay no taxes, tax the poor, no social spending, etc.) wasn't WRONG, it was just how it was PRESENTED. Fuck them and their stupid fucking racist corporatist xenophobic God-bothering party.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-11-16

Jindal sees an opening. He's going to take it.

Rudy - 2012-11-16

Maybe Romney just needs a good exorcism?

Xenocide - 2012-11-15

Basically, the entire GOP has turned on Romney over these remarks. (Even though they echo what most of the party has been saying for years:)

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/15/1162079/-And-now-for- the-part-where-Republicans-distance-themselves-from-Mitt-Romney

There is a silver lining to this election for Republicans, and that's that they don't have to spend the next four years pretending they ever liked Mitt Romney.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-11-15

They're just going back to what worked before. Let Rush, Coulter and Fox say the nasty stuff, and let the political leadership use that hate with dog-whistles and coded phrases.

When the Tea Party surged in enthusiasm and Glenn Beck was the face of the movement, they thought it was okay to be honest since the country was on their side. They kinda forget that blatant racism, homophobia and sexism is a great way to motivate minorities, tolerant people, and women to go vote.

roughnready66 - 2012-11-15

Looking forward to my big gift! If it's a premium on my defense stocks, lower capital gains, or more free money for my government bonds, I'm going to be pissed.

Nikon - 2012-11-16

Way to be a sore loser, Mittens.

gravelstudios - 2012-11-16

I knew this would end up on here. this is the moment when I lost all respect for this man. Before, I could kind of understand why people support him, and I thought people were being a little too hard on him. This, though, is reprehensible.

memedumpster - 2012-11-16

Mitt lost because his party endorses ruthless social darwinism and he was obviously the weakest of modern humans. The fact that he wasn't killed and eaten by his family for it is another failure of the Republican platform.

StanleyPain - 2012-11-16

For the shit the poor seem to be getting for apparently decades now, one wonders why there are still poor people.

Tasso - 2012-11-16

I LOST BECAUSE PRESIDENT OBAMA PROMISED TO GIVE HIS VOTERS WHAT THEY WANTED, WHICH BEAT MY CONSTANT INSULTS AND GLOWERING

ROMNEY CONFUSED! GRRRRRRRRRR!

The God of Biscuits - 2012-11-16

Yeah, affordable college, birth control, and decent healthcare are "big gifts" and not at all sound investments in the future of America.

memedumpster - 2012-11-16

That guy - 2012-11-20

Nice... but I can't believe that he worked for that socialist, bleeding-heart liberal Ronald Reagan.
