Kidding aside, I've only seen one picture of a youthful Stan Lee, which was taken around WWII/1940's. Most of the press photos of him were taken in the ealy-mid 1970's when he was already creeping into his mid 50's.

This is amazing.
I like to think that Stan Lee is making fun these guys and the direction popular comics was heading in the 90's. The name of the character he gives these guys to design is 'Overkill'.
Both of them were known for absurd over the top turbo-masculine designs.

2. Liefeld isn't wearing a backwards cap, but you can still see one.
3. Stan Lee is like a dirty mouthed mob uncle in the presence of idiot nephews.
4. The initial "never been done" excitement quickly turned into a disclaimer.

This is the first time I've ever seen these two in person. McFarlane sounds like he has brain damage. Liefeld sounds a bit like Randall Graves.
I agree with everyone here. Lee is obviously trolling them. He's putting their lack of talent on exhibit and they are oblivious to his mockery.
