Are you mocking this amazing mind-fuck of a show?

subduralhematoma - 2012-11-25

Teenage me loved this show. I think almost 30 me will love it even more

fedex - 2012-11-25

how do you do that double-tag link trick for "world destroying space penis"?

Change - 2013-02-27

I have no idea. It's my version of the Baleen triple-post.

Aelric - 2012-11-25

I never watched it much when it was on because it was impenetrable, preferring Farscape for my left-field scifi because it was just more accessible.

So I just watched this and it actually looks alright. I remember things being a lot more slapstick and not so dire and dark. Like, I remember the dead guy turning into a tree in one episode and the lady being 40 stories tall and destroying a city like godzilla.

I also remember the chick being a different actress. Gotta say, I prefer this one. Goddamn.

memedumpster - 2012-11-25

You have four movies and three seasons of TV show goddamn awesomeness ahead of you.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-25

I never watched this show either. I was WAY too "hip" for goofy live action scifi, it was all about the edgy anime shows involving mecha and schoolgirls.

But the commercials for it, with that half lizard stripper chick and her oh-so-delicious lips, those left an impression on fourteen year old me. Watching it now, yeah, yeah I think this will do nicely while I wait for BSG.

memedumpster - 2012-11-25

This is the best sci fi tv show ever made.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-25

Oooo, so it's a FIGHT you want, aye? Sonic Screwdrivers, at dawn!

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2012-11-25

I love this show. They even nuke Newfoundland!

memedumpster - 2012-11-25

I don't think we should fight, Lexx and BSG have a lot in common.

Both center around a large powerful battleship in the hands of idiots trying to survive.
Both have crews with completely different ideas of how the big battleship is to be used, until a third party has an opinion at which time they blow it up.
Both have oversexed bisexual robots.
Both have secret assassins.
Both have useless, USELESS MY GOD USELESS, crew members doing stuff.
Both have really cool little ships that leave the big one occasionally to get into extra trouble, or bring it back to the big ship.
Both involve the obliteration of a dozen planets.

I think the new BSG actually borrows more from Lexx than the old BSG.

garcet71283 - 2012-11-25

Actually, when you put it that way, it is clear that Lexx was the superior show, since at least it was doing all the above for satire's sake.

Juice Eggs McKenna - 2012-11-25

It's like Star Trek stripped of all it's liberal sensitivities

garcet71283 - 2012-11-25

So...just a bunch of screwing?

EvilHomer - 2012-11-25

meme- that... would make a lot of sense, actually. New BSG borrowing more from Lexx than from Old BSG, I mean. "Lexx, as seen by Mormons".

Juice- that'd make a wonderful tagline. For every scene Star Trek got right (Troi eating icecream), there were a hundred more ruined by the dippie LIEberal writers (everything else involving Troi).

Hammer Falls - 2012-11-25

Disclaimer: I love Lexx and the writers "Well, why not?" attitude.
But... come on, it was on for a while, but it was never popular.

Koda Maja - 2012-11-25

It should come as no surprise to anyone that this was a Canadian & German co-production.

PegLegPete - 2012-11-25

I have all of this show, it's one of my favorites. It's apparently Canadian.

kingarthur - 2012-11-25

I never checked this show out when I was younger as I preferred Farscape for its production values and weirdness. Clearly I missed something here.

Tripitaka - 2012-11-25

"Yo Way Yo
Home Va Ray.
Vyo Way Rah.
Jerhume Brunnen-G!"

Yeah .... I love this show too.

StanleyPain - 2012-11-26

Lexx is awesome. I watched it religiously for years, one of the few shows I can say that about. I think it got a bit too stupid in the final season (where they go to Earth), but prior to that, I think it's probably one of the most creative, visionary sci-fi TV shows ever made. Each season from 2 onwards had sort of a large story-arc, but it never gave into dumb TV tropes just to satisfy a moron fanbase.

candyheadrobot - 2012-11-27

I caught I Worship His Shadow on Showtime when I was like 13, and just thought it was an awesome movie, but when the show appeared on Sci-Fi channel, I didn't know wtf was going on. I ended up watching the rest of it on Netflix awhile back, absolutely love it. The actor that plays Stan is actually in Hobo With A Shotgun, which is equally great.

The Mothership - 2014-09-14

Only the nerdiest of nerds watched this. I was not the nerdiest, but I remember seeing this a couple of times when it was on.
