1. If people care about Amanda Todd more than other victims of bullying (because they know her video) is that the same thing as believing Amanda Todd's suffering is more important than the suffering of other victims?

Is there evidence that a plurality of people are paying attention the Amanda Todd to the exclusion of other victims? (according to Google answers, "to the exclusion" means exclusively, REFUSING to pay attention to others.)

2. Is there evidence that a plurality of people who have "liked" Amanda Todd on Facebook don't care about bullying victims who haven't comitted suicide?

3 Is there evidence to suggest that NO ONE is talking about "what really needs to be done about bullying"?

I know it's hard to prove a negative, but I'm not the one who made the statement.

And is it unreasonable to hope that talking about the story of Amanda Todd is
not beneficial, in and of itself? Is it unreasonable to hope that at least a few girls will take the warning and not fall prey to predators? Isn't it possible that some girls will refuse to take their shirt off because of Amanda's story? Can you prove that won't happen?

Here's something I posted here:

http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/2012/10/13/the-amazing- atheist-reveals-his-lack-of-humanity-again/

In response to this:

http://youtu.be/G-qgARGjT6s

Here’s what I think: the Amazing Athiest doesn’t give a shit about any of the things he claims to give a shit about. He’s not really outraged at the injustice of other kids getting more Facebook views. He’s not really mad that Amanda Todd is distracting us from the starving peoples of the world. The evidence for this is that the phoney case he makes, and the care he takes to conceal its phonyness.

The Amazing Athiest is a misogynist bully, and he sees Amanda Todd as a threat to a world made safe for bullies, especially misogynist bullies.

And you know what? I think there IS something admirable in that. Amanda Todd didn’t die for nothing.

Also, society and the law maintain that a 13 year old cannot give informed consent for a sexual performance. She can’t be held responsible. I think that society and the law got this one right, but there are those who disagree.

For example, the National Man-Boy Love Association, AKA NAMBLA. It seems we have a few potential NAMBLA members posting here?

Does the Amazing Atheist give a shit about Atheism? Of course he does! Thanks to Atheism, he gets to prove his intellectual credentials by using logic against people who believe that the most important virtue a human being can posses is magical thinking. It’s not very hard.

I’m sure that the Amazing Atheist believes in Atheism, just as Pat Robertson belives in God. Both men are sincere in their belief, which makes them all the more effective as hucksters.

It's that Fundie Mindset. His evangelizes his beliefs because they're not being used to make him a better person, they're used as proof that he is better than everyone else. He'd have made for a mediocre PoE exhibit, but one hell of a P_N poster.

John Holmes, here are five stars for your enthusiasm.

Konversekid - 2012-11-25

Agreed, in a hilarious way.

I think the AA is still hitting on a really troubling issue with this case, that happens to delegitimize many popularized social issues like this, in that it has become incredibly novel. Even if you genuinely feel terrible about what had happened to her and are actually doing real things in the world to change the problems in terms of bullying, this general flippancy and sorrowful inaction towards bullying cannot be escaped.

Kony 2012

"At least this has raised the issue into the public's consciousness."

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-25

Oh, you're just being a dick because you think it's funny.

If the amazing atheist has something valid to say, let him say it in a valid way. This is all fakery. The guy who says we're all hypocrites for caring about one dead girl when people are starving in Africa made a video the previous week about Honey Boo Boo. He's crying big wet tears about kids who were bullied now, but he once told a woman that the guy who raped her should get a medal.

Kony 2012 was the web talking about some dictator somewhere. Africa, I suppose. This is the web talking about the web. Big difference.

And I already pretty much said "At least this has raised the issue into the public's consciousness.", so you're In AFTER that.

memedumpster - 2012-11-25

The Internet reserves the right to create a circular reality where each piece of media is the person itself and is not connected in any way to actual persons living or dead. Internet humans are thus incapable of feeling actual emotion from anything that isn't backlit, ad supported, and comments enabled.

It would be very Pythagorean if it wasn't so rock stupid.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-25

Not the reaction I am accustomed to.

Toenails - 2012-11-25

Loaded Question: Who fucking cares about what the Amazing Atheist has to say?

He's fat, ugly, and he should kill himself.

memedumpster - 2012-11-25

1.) She's not. Not everyone does. There's enough humans to offer sympathy to everyone, and whichever one is being focused on at any given time is also focusing on the others by proxy. Only you make this specifically about Amanda Todd, because you are a bully.
2.) I don't, but no one expects a bully to cause a suicide (because bullies are small minded pussies that nature itself would cull if it weren't for society), so when it happens it means bullies need a social culling. It's a call to respond to the needs of civilization.
3.) People are talking about it, just in circles that have power and are actually important. You would be one of them if you did likewise.

What a fucking moron.

joelkazoo - 2012-11-25

He's not evil. He's just a fucking chronically-masturbating waffle-eating douchebag who doesn't deserve any attention whatsoever.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-25

Well, no, he's fairly evil. Read the comments to his Amanda Todd video, and you can see that for a few thousand stupid high school kids, the amazing atheist helps makes misogyny seem intellectual.

He's also fascinating. I don't know anyone on youtube who seems more like a living train wreck. Not Daniel Songer. Maybe not even Chris Chan. If he was mainstream famous, "the guy who raped you deserves a medal" would have qualified as a bona fide career-ending public meltdown. So would the banana incident. But internet famous has different rules than mainstream famous. There will be more meltdowns, bigger and better meltdowns, glorious meltdowns, and he will upload them all. Because this guy is really the Amazing Attention whore.

Where will it end? I think it's pretty obvious, isn't it? In the end, TJ will accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Depend upon it.

If the muse so commands, I may keep making little short videos about TAA, and continue to submit them. I mean, he's such an obvious target for satire, right? But I don't expect them to all be voted up. If they are, we're all going to get pretty tired of this conversation. I'm just making them available to those who want to see them, and trying to get the views into the double digits.

The intent is to be funny, and maybe when there isn't a dead child being referenced, that will be more apparent.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-25

Why did I rate my own video, and why did I give it three stars?

Syd Midnight - 2012-11-27

Nahh, he'd never join Team Jesus. He has too many valid reasons to despise his creator.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-27

Jesus would probably turn him down.

blue vein steel - 2012-11-25

oh boy, another video from a fat, ugly idiot who no one likes

Hooker - 2012-11-25

Boring.

White Trash Party - 2012-11-26

Loaded questions for him:

1. Why do you feel the need to take shirtless pictures?

2. Could you not have found a more appetizing baked potato. Seriously broccoli?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-11-27

I chose the baked potato image, and I chose it for grossness. It's a metaphor.

EvilHomer - 2012-11-27

Hey!

Hey, Mister Holmes!

Izzat you? Holding the sign? How come I can't see your face? Can you make more videos like this? I love poe-original programming.
