The most interesting parts are at the end:

"who are you gonna believe the japanese porn industry or some south asian weaboos thinking they are japanese?"

What color is Marge Simpson?
You probably answered white. But she has googly eyes, yellow skin, and blue hair. She has an very big overbite. None of these are necessarily white traits.

If you answered white, you may have a perception bias where the default race is assumed to be white.

Why do anime characters have big eyes? Tezuka Osamu started the trend in his art, but to help differentiate faces and read emotions, people focus on the eyes in Japan. The mouth doesn't reveal as much info.

What's with the neon hair? It's easier to tell them apart. Same thing with eye colors.

Japanese art has a long tradition that doesn't always include photorealism.

For the people watching the anime, the drawings are assumed to be Japanese unless they are said not to be.

I read somewhere that it was also because he was inspired by betty boop.

Nikon - 2012-12-20

Possibly that too.

MY GOD SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE IN A POETV COMMENT ABOUT ANIME

Old_Zircon - 2012-12-20

What freedoom said. Fleischer influenced anime at least as much as Chaplin influenced Bollywood.

"If you answered white, you may have a perception bias where the default race is assumed to be white."

Or you might have watched the show and heard the following quote from Homer himself: "I'm a white male, age 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are."

Or you may have compared them with characters like Apu, Doctor Hibbert, Bumblebee Man, etc. and the obvious characters that, though yellow, are obviously white due to their roles: Mr. Burns (the rich white oligarch), Ned Flanders (the white charismatic Christian), Martin (white nerd), and so forth.

You might want to pick a different analogy, because this one is amazingly clueless on your part.

@Steam
All right, that was a bad example. I didn't remember that Homer said he was white.

Nikon - 2012-12-20

But for a moment, leave out that bit of info from the show and you'll see the point I was trying to make, flawed though it was.

Maru - 2012-12-20

One for Nikon's example.

EvilHomer - 2012-12-20

YOU STOLE THE MARGE ANALOGY FROM GUEST BLOGGER JULIAN ABAGOND!

Anyway, I typed up a seven paragraph long rebuttal, but Kleenex beat me to it.

Five star for the YT comments. And the cosplay porn.
